today we’re going to talk about a guy who came back to help us out when we needed it the most Taj Gibson you might be wondering what happened with Taj well let me tell you the story remember when our Center Mitchell Robinson got injured back in December so in the midst of injuries and difficulties who could have imagined that we would get a phone call at 3:00 a.m. that’s exactly what happened Gibson shared this hilarious story on Jeff teags Club 520 podcast he recalled with a smile on his face I saw Mitch get hurt and thought I know this idiot thibs isn’t going to call me I went to sleep and suddenly at 3:00 a.m. I get a call hey are you in shape just imagine you’re sleeping peacefully and out of nowhere there’s Tibido and so in the middle of the night Gibson was back on the team he knows coach Tom Tibido well from their time in Chicago and Minnesota so their partnership is like a well-oiled machine thibs didn’t waste any time and asked right away if Taj would be ready to play the next day and of course Gibson was there ready to give his best in the 16 games he played with us even though most were on 10-day contracts he showed all his grit and team spirit he brought not only experience but also the energy we needed during that tough part of the Season unfortunately since the Knicks couldn’t keep signing him to 10-day contracts Taj finished the season with the Detroit Pistons but hold on there’s another interesting detail Tibido said that the doors of the Knicks will always be open for Gibson whether as a player or perhaps even as an assistant coach in the future the guy has the talent for it now I want to hear from you what do you think about Taj Gibson coming back as a coach for the Knicks do you think he still has some game left in him or would it be better to see him helping the team from the sidelines leave your thoughts in the comments
