The Phoenix Suns Just Did EXACTLY What The NBA Feared..

there’s absolutely no answer for what the Phoenix Suns are doing the disrespect is real and nobody seems to notice what this team is capable of this team has so much potential that the NBA still hasn’t realized the Phoenix Suns just did exactly what the NBA feared and that’s what we’re going to talk about in this video Sun’s fans are beginning to realize that due to the sun’s tight financial situation it’s un whether Yousef nkik will return with chances roughly split sundo suggested that selecting at the 22nd pick offers a solid opportunity to maneuver within the salary cap they eyeing Kyle filipowski from duke praised for his strong fundamentals precise passing scoring ability High basketball IQ and popularity among fans one thing I’ve noticed is that his wingspan is slightly shorter than his height by about a qu inch while this is an ideal I’m willing to overlook it due to his impressive skills I completely agree his oncore performance is impressive especially for a 22nd overall pick making him a great value regarding his height I consider him a seven-footer since he’ll be playing in shoes which meets my threshold for a center he doesn’t need to be like bam adabo who everyone loves despite being 6’9 in one of the most exciting aspects of his game is his excellent post moves and touch around the rim compared to Yousef nkik this is like a refreshing bottle of Voss water in the desert a stark contrast to the meme of nerk repeatedly missing Point Blank layups after rebounds when it comes to his inside game I’ve watched several of his tournament games and reviewed the tape his inside game is solid I really like his turnaround jumpers and the way he uses pump fakes and head fakes to get to the basket his touch around the rim is significantly better than Yousef nerix even at his young age which is refreshing to see however I’m not sure how quickly this will translate to the league he will often face heavier opponents so he’ll need to work hard to polish and perfect his skills for an immediate impact we hope he can achieve this especially since he’s projected to be a late first round pick if we draft him we want him to develop quickly and eventually surpass Drew Eubanks in the rotation developing his inside game swiftly will be crucial for this I also appreciate his pick and roll game he can pop out and shoot and I have confidence in his shooting form more so than in Yousef nkik or Drew Eubanks this shooting ability is crucial because Mike bu ER likes his bigs to shoot threes to space the floor last season opponents could collapse on the pick in roll with Booker Beal and Durant because the bigs weren’t a shooting threat a player like Kyle filipowski changes the dynamic with his shooting ability giving me confidence in those situations as for his passing I see similarities with nkik We Trust nerk to make the right passes at the top of the key in the pick and roll and filipowski shows a similar ability he’s a very smart player and his passing will be a valuable asset not only is he Nimble for a big man but I also trust him to take the ball to the rack more effectively than youf nck or Drew Eubanks Mike buttin holer prefers centers like that even if we had kept Frank it’s crucial to have a center on the roster whether as a starter or backup who can shoot from more than 4T away from the rim this is especially important for the sun’s big three and their Shooters our spacing was off when we weren’t playing small ball because with nerick or Eubanks on the court opponents didn’t need to guard them near the perimeter this allowed them to double team Booker Durant or Beal easily if the strategy is to rely on NK hitting enough threes to beat the opponent you can see the flaw in that plan I’m not saying Kyle filipowski will be hitting four plus threes per game but he can show the defense that they can’t leave him unguarded this tweak could transform the team into the offensive Powerhouse they were supposed to be filipowski ceiling is tantalizing his handles are exceptionally good for his size and his ability to get to the rack spin fade and lean while still making shots is impressive he reminds me of a young Lori marinin or fron Wagner or even Mor it’s Wagner having someone like him at 22 whether as a replacement or backup for NK who seems to be weighed down by bricks in his shoes and lacks quickness would be a significant upgrade now when discussing some cons the first con at least offensively is his ability to create when he doesn’t get the ball and structure this isn’t a major issue in the context of our team but it’s worth noting you’ll see plays where he sets the pick pops and if he doesn’t pop he cuts to the opposite block and Duke’s offense he’d get the ball there and operate however when he doesn’t get to his spots or the offense doesn’t go as planned his ability to create is lacking in our offense we won’t rely on him to create out of nothing especially with Durant Booker and Beal on the team still it’s important to recognize that when things go off script he struggles to generate offense independently he’ll likely have to pass out in these situations and defenses May exploit this by staying in the passing lanes and anticipating his kickouts this is something to be mindful of as we integrate him into our system another con we see is on defense I don’t think is shot blocking ability in college will translate to the NBA first there’s his wingspan and second it’s the NBA where players are bigger and faster and College he was the only seven-footer on the court often facing opponents who were 6′ 5 in 6′ 6 in or 6′ 7 in even the bigger players were usually just 6′ 9 in it was easy for him to be a defensive anchor in that setting but in the NBA everyone is just as big and fast if not faster he might develop into a defensive anchor eventually but it’s not something too expect right away at roughly 230 lb he’ll need to bulk up as he sometimes gets bullied by bigger players this is one advantage nurk has he can stand his ground well however the worst case scenario isn’t so bad considering he isn’t a true seven-footer and has the skill set of a four he could play the power forward position he has everything needed to play the four and in some highlights you can see he excels with a bigger guy alongside him this allows him to avoid the Dirty Work and leverage his shooting and movement at the four hey what do the Sons really lack a solid power forward outside of Kevin Durant who we both agree would be better suited at the three drafting him would be a sneaky good move because he could fill both roles another question is whether his speed can compensate for his lack of length and standing reach can he get to spots quicker anticipate plays and make up for his physical shortcomings the blocks he made in college seem to be about anticipation similar to n who doesn’t jump high but gets blocks through good IQ and understanding his opponent’s likely moves perhaps he can help protect the rim this way if we keep nerk and have filipowski backing him up it would be beneficial for filipowski to practice against the Season Center daily this could force him to get stronger and learn how to handle big NBA players regarding his weight yes it’s likely to be an issue he might get pushed around a bit in the NBA depending on the matchup against teams like the Timberwolves or big players like Valen sunas or Anthony Davis he would definitely L face challenges in maintaining his position I like the idea of him playing as a stretch four or alongside nerick in a twin tower setup similar to what we envisioned with bomo imagine if we resign bomo on another minimum deal and have both filipowski and bomo on the court at the same time that would really stretch the floor additionally if we play filipowski at the five and utilize pick and pop we’d Force supposing bigs out of the paint opening up the lane there are many ways to use him making him a Swiss army knife for both the four and five positions he can be developed in various roles which is something Mike buten holer would likely appreciate if filipowski Falls to 22 it would be a steal some mock drafts have him coming to us While others have him going to teams like Toronto we’ll have to wait and see but getting him at 22 would be great value especially considering we don’t have another first round pick for a while acquiring a player like this would be beneficial for the sun’s future providing a big who can play alongside Durant Booker or Beal for the next few years
