Golden State Warriors Definition Series: Juneteenth

the fin in juneth um part of American History is something that needs to be told more and more a powerful day it’s opportunity to get around family get around people uh it’s a big day in our in our history that that shouldn’t be looked over it should be celebrated and talked about and recognized a day that should be celebrated for everything that we have accomplished been through and overcame being seen you know just finding out more more about your history in life through school or whatnot you never heard about it or learned about it or whatnot so it just shows you how far you know we still have to go to continue to to learn and be educated on on history with juneth becoming a national holiday I think it’s important for us to make sure we continue to do the work that was being done in order for that to become a national holiday because our our message is still far from done being told we are not that far removed from the Civil Rights Movement if you really think about it so it’s so important to celebrate juneth because B it could be overlooked and we canot let that happen because it was such a a huge moment for black American history and it was just the beginning of a long battle toward equality and Freedom the progress that has been made you know the progress that still needs to happen the people that have been a part of you know changing the landscape of what it means to be you know black in this country I think juneth is another opportunity amongst many others to to recognize our place in American history and uh the things that continue to need to change to you know create true equality in this country
