Most Jump Shots Made

40% of Dirks points were from mid range. Dirk was also shooting 4-5 attempts from 3 which isn’t that crazy today but it was a lot in his time and no PF-C of his era and before took as many attempts. It’s about what a typical stretch 4-5 archetype now attempts.

Dirk also owns multiple mid range spots in the 2000s for FG% and buckets made. I wish I could find the graphics for that so if some can please share.

Even KG who is also know for being a stretch 4 only shot 1 attempt from 3 at his peak and averages about half an attempt for his career to put it in perspective. I actually don’t agree with people who say KG is a stretch 4 for this reason and changed the game like Dirk.

Dirk is way better than a quick look on his resume and stats sheet make it seem. Stats like that show it.

20.7/7.5/2.4 and one MVP and FMVP doesn’t look like Top 20, but he definetly was. Hate it when people, who didn’t watch back then, put KG and DWade in front of him.

I know it’s irrational, but after growing up in Dallas, Dirk is still my GOAT. 2011 was a good time. Whole city was on fire.

  3. Dirk has an ungodly footwork for a 7-footer, and he can stop on a dime to create space for his pull-up shots.

Not a lot of big men can do that.

The closest I can think of are Markannen and Durant. But in Lauri’s case, it wasn’t as quick and smooth as Dirk’s when he was 23-25.
