Lakers starting 5 for the 24/25 season should be LBJ, AD, Wembanyama, Klay Thompson and Donovan Mitchell. Than just draft Bronny and fill out the rest of the roster with the best mix of vets and rookies that you can for each position. If you can find a way to land Caruso, Gary Trent Jr. and Covington while keeping Max Christie, Gabe Vincent Rui and TP, you dominate for the next decade.What team in the league could beat that squad in a 7 game series. Just that starting 5 would probably 3 peat and possibly win 4 or 5 championships consecutively. LBJ just needs to stick around for 3 of them so he can pass Jordan in rings to end the debate of the GOAT.
Had mentally adjusted a while ago to JJ getting hired. Now I choose to be optimistic and wait n see as a fan. Anyways experts in media (including here like Sean) were so wrong about Ham hire, our supposedly great last off-season.
If this fails and gets Pelinka fired finally, it would still be a successful move. ๐

I think a young coach was the right hire. James will opt in, and hopefully sign a lesser contract. Meanwhile, a young coaching staff can develop the young payers. Remember the Lakers were horrible in the past, maybe ten years, they came back to compete for championship. Look at the stats from years past. The Lakers have had lows before, several times, and always come back. Only thing I will say is the Lakers are no longer an elite landing spot, but as life long Laker fan, just build for the future. No to Young, he is very inconsistant. Like Rondo, Handy, and Cassel as coaches.
