so could the Brooklyn Nets be trading away male Bridges to the Indiana Pacers this 2024 NBA off season well here on the screen is a mock trade or a trade idea from bleacherreport.com the link to this article is down below in case you want to check out the entire thing for yourself so this trade would see uh the Indiana Pacers trading away jarus Walker Benedict matheran Isaiah Jackson the number 36 pick a 2028 first round pick and a 2030 first round pick to the Brooklyn Nets for male Bridges so my immediate thoughts are on the winner of this trade has to be uh the Indiana Pacers if they’re able to get a star player like Mel Bridges and team him up with players like Pascal cakam who they just resigned today and Tyrese halberton this could be one of the best teams in the entire league next year let alone uh the Eastern Conference at the very least so I think them getting a third star like a true third star who’s pretty good on both sides of the ball like Mel Bri uh would be an amazing step in the right direction for the Pacers in their franchise but it’s going to come at a pretty hefty cost right jarus Walker good young player uh Benedict Maan as well good young player has shown flashes in the past of you know potentially being a superstar in this league Isaiah Jackson a couple draft picks as well uh where in 2028 and 2030 the Pacers might be a lottery team you can’t really predict that far into the future just asked the Brooklyn Nets about the Boston Celtics trade uh that won them a championship this year because of that that so I know the the Nets have been pretty clear about wanting to keep Mel Bridges and sort of build around him especially too right with them not having their draft picks in the foreseeable future it’s probably not in the best interest as a franchise uh to trade away your star player and sure you’re getting future draft picks which you which you could definitely get better down the road but if you’re going to be drafting in the lottery the next couple years and you don’t even own your own draft picks it’s probably best to keep Mel Bridges and trade him at a later date um unless the offer is too good to refuse which in this case probably isn’t but it’s still a good package nonetheless so if I had to pick winner of this trade I would definitely say the Indiana Pacers because they are getting back the best player in this deal but as always leave your thoughts down below
