stuff okay here it is shout out to sixer Galaxy the Sixers are expected to resign Nicholas Batum Kelly UB Jr and Kyle Lowry this offseason per Kai Carlin uh Sixers reporter by the way let’s let’s check the credibility here cover the Philadelphia 76ers is editor of the Sixers wire for USA Today senior NBA wires editor uh so you know connected Kai Carlin’s connected and he’s got sources and this is what he says they’re expected to resign Nicholas Batum Kelly UB and Kyle Lowry this offseason the Sixers are expected to keep guys like Kelly UB Nicholas Batum and Kyle Lowry as those three play a big role in what Philadelphia wants to accomplish so let me give my opinion on all three I guess you know of course I want Kelly UB back um even though someone was replying to me yesterday with Kelly ub’s onoff splits trying to explain to me that Kelly UB hurts the team and whatever with all of these uh calculator arguments without actually watching games Kell UB brings a level of physicality toughness relentlessness and just Flatout fight on the court that uh is contagious and you know I just love him on the court I don’t care what his numbers are bro I want Kelly UB back plus he’s tsunami poppy bro you know what I mean like like your girlfriend’s watching the game with you because Kelly UB is on the screen pause all why did I say that yo all right Nicholas patum I think it’s fun that this came out just a couple hours after all those Paul George things came out Paul George on his podcast says that you know basically he felt like the Clippers got worse after they traded Nicholas Batum and Robert Covington kind of backhandedly talking trash on the James Harden trade uh even though they went like 26 and9 after that but um this comes out just a couple hours after after that rumor kind of blows up or that clip kind of blows up and the Sixers are like oh yeah hey Paul George misses Nicholas patum get it out there get it out there get it to the writers get it to the Sixers writers we’re signing Nick Batum so the Sixers are interested in bringing back Nicholas patum of course veteran quick trigger 40 plus% threo shooter one of the smartest big men I’ve seen recently just just with the ball in his hands I mean I was watching some highlights yesterday and there’s a clip where Nicholas patum is running a fast break and makes like an advanced pass and then points to the like tells the guy that he passed it to where to pass it next like he made a a pass before a pass cuz he read the whole floor he really is a very high IQ basketball player and I like him next to Joel embiid don’t know if I want him in the starting lineup don’t know if I want him to play the amount of minutes that Nick nurse played him but actually nurse benched him uh in certain Series so maybe if nurse gets a little bit more uh detached from certain guys and is able to play them in certain matchups and not just you know here’s your 30 minutes a game if you burn out you burn out but I love Nicholas Batum and would love him back and I’m happy about that Kyle Lowry on the other hand man I think I said this yesterday or the day before or whatever but I like Kyle Lowry I like his veteran point guard mentality I like what he has left as far as his ability to run a half court his ability to set up Tyrese Maxi his ability to still catch and shoot from a high percentage spread the floor um but it’s Nick nurse’s connection to Kyle lry that I don’t like and Kyle Lowry burn out in the playoffs and nurse still played him 30 plus minutes and he gave you back toback goose eggs and not that you’re wanting not that you’re putting Kyle Lowry out there and saying we need 15 points from you that’s not why Kyle Lowry was signed that’s not why you play Kyle Lowry at this stage of his career so it is what it is there there there’s the other part of that that like the Sixers were so lacking scoring that you started to look at Kyle Lowry and say Hey you gave us a goose egg so if if they give you some more scoring with a better third option than goose egg Tobias Harris and some other guys then probably Kyle Lowry scoring isn’t even really looked at and he’s just put on the floor to be that facilitator set up Tyrese Max you catch and shoot when you’re open and things like that again I I don’t really want him playing 30 plus minutes uh but we’ll see you know if they resign him we’ll see what Nick nurse does uh but again I think the Kyle L Nick nurse thing and the amount of minutes and the goose eggs in the playoffs were Amplified because of how just lacking the Sixers were of scoring outside of their main guys so there’s that uh I do think Kyle Lowry wants more than a vet minimum and he’s about to turn 40 he’s a turn he’s I think he’s about to turn 39 he’ll be almost 40 by next playoffs uh I don’t know if you get him on another vet minimum sure but if I can’t see you giving Kyle Lowry like a three-year contract like that would just be insane uh we’ll see what they do but there’s the report man there’s the the guys that they are expected to resign one name that’s not in there that I’m a little bit disappointed is not in there that I would like to see is Cameron Payne Cameron Payne is that Swiss army knife Off the Bench that just has a level of energy and confidence and and killer mentality when the Sixers were stagnant he would come in the game and just put a smile on everyone’s face he was just such a breath of fresh air when he came in game and they’ve been needing guys like that off the bench for forever when the when the energy is low and and the defense is really clamping guys and our main guys are getting doubled and tripled and we’re really struggling to make anything happen Cameron Payne comes off the bench and just starts bombing threes and cutting people up and running pick and rolls and throwing alley oops and I just love everything he brought to the team last year and I would love to see Cameron pay back on this team but he’s not in this initial report uh they might like Cameron Payne walk man give me your thoughts on that of course uh this is coming out too if the Sixers if darl muray does not succeed seed at uh trading the first round pick if he doesn’t get what he thinks he wants uh he’s not going to trade he’s not going to trade it just for no reason you saw a couple years ago when he drafted Jaden Springer with a first round pick uh Jared McCaine from duke here is a potential uh draft pick for the Sixers at pick number 16 63 195 freshman shot creating guard out of Duke uh 14.3 points per game as as a freshman in a big-time school I like that uh five rebounds per game at only 6’3 I like that uh 1.9 assist per game here’s what I really like about Jared McCain 41.4% 3point percentage on six attempts per game I like that and what I want to say is that if he fails to trade the first round pick and he and he’s forced to draft somebody at least somebody like Jared McCain is probably a player that could be used at least Off the Bench in minimum minutes as a rookie and just be one of those spark kind of guys and who knows by you know throughout the season towards the playoffs maybe he becomes like a rotational player and a surprise player and and is vital Off the Bench and you know you’ve seen rookie guards come off the bench and and be valuable uh for teams plenty of times throughout the course of watching the NBA and you know you can look at someone like Derek Lively not a guard but same scenario a rookie that was drafted right around he was drafted 12 but a rookie that was used on on a team that that went all the way to the NBA finals so I’m not saying it’s impossible for a rookie to get minutes uh Nick nurse didn’t play Ricky Council when it mattered the most because he’s a g-league guy and has an awkward shot and probably some other reasons his defensive uh communication maybe knowing the plays maybe knowing the spots to be maybe there was some things there but maybe a rookie guard like Jared McCain could get some rotational minutes for the Sixers and what I’m saying is if he fails to trade the pick at least he could draft a guy like this who could be useful the J the the Jaden Springer thing a couple years ago was such a head scratcher because it was like okay you didn’t trade the pick but you drafted a project you drafted a 19-year-old kid who can’t shoot who literally I mean doesn’t really have much basketball game at all he has a perfect stature and size and athletic ability but that’s a project that you hope you could develop into something at least somebody like this has some high level basketball skill has played at a high level and I think could be useful Off the Bench uh you know as a rotational guard so I I would I wouldn’t be upset if they fail to trade the pick if whatever I wouldn’t be upset at this at Jared McCain being the 76ers draft pick at number 16 and before I get out of here uh we had a little bit of a uh uh writer beef on Twitter last night that’s that’s fun look it’s the offseason bro any any uh entertainment I can get I’m all for the Sixers Galaxy quoted Kai Carlin who is a host of the phly Sixers podcast uh one of the hosts right and this is where he got the quote from or he got the quote from a Kai Carlin article wait Kai Carlin isn’t on that podcast that’s uh somebody else I’m thinking of but either way Derek botner who is on that podcast uh Sixers for p H Sports um he retweets this tweet and says before everybody reacts to this the next sentence in the article this was sourced from says however there is a VI a rival team that could steal Lowry from the Sixers it was an article about New York’s interest in Lowry aggregators are the worst I think Bodner got upset because Philly Sixers Galaxy basically put out the one quote saying that Kyle Lowry is one of the three players the Sixers want to resign but he didn’t initially put the second part of the quote which is that there’s a rival team that could steal Lowry from the Sixers and then Derek Bodner calls him an aggregator which I don’t know what the [ __ ] that means to be quite honest with you guys I’m not uh a damn linguist or something I would never I’ve never used the word aggregator in conversation that’s all I’m saying and then sixer Galaxy replies now we got some some beef on the timeline between Sixers writers and Sixers Twitter pages and for those that care we’re seeing a shift in media and we’re seeing a little bit of animosity between old school style Sports writing and radio hosts and new school style which is Twitter pages Instagram pages and YouTubers it’s just an interesting Dynamic to me uh because jealousy is a hell of a drug anyway six Galaxy replies to him it says crazy because it’s literally posted right before this tweet that quote that you bring up from the SNY article just states that they had interest in Lowry after his buyout not any recent interest if anything you’re the one misleading people not me and he posts his own tweet where he quoted the quote that Derek Bodner claims that he didn’t quote nerd [Laughter] fight I don’t know dude there’s no reason for me to
