[Music] we are one week away NBA fans Yes you heard that correctly exactly one week away from the 2024 NBA draft round one gets underway on Wednesday June 26th I am Nick Roff this is NBA now and make sure you are subscribe to the channel as we do have a mock draft on today’s show because we will be live for the NBA draft in a week breaking down every single pick all 30 on day one and we’ll be live for day two as well cuz there are two days this year for round two lock Us in because we will have the best coverage on YouTube for the NBA draft all right let’s get into ESPN’s new NBA Mock Draft that released this morning Zachary racee goes number one to the Atlanta Hawks a lot of Buzz out there that Alex SAR is no longer the favorite due to the fact the Hawks simply can’t get him into the building for a workout kind of a bizarre situation for a top prospect but reash and Donovan kinging are two guys that could unse Alex SAR as a number one pick but I would still be willing to bet SAR is that first selection well if SAR doesn’t go one you can almost lock him in the number two and that’s what ESPN has here going to the Wizards and the Wizards would be the most excited team out of anyone if this happens to be the case in a week because they need a center very very badly trading away Daniel Gafford in the TR trade deadline last year they have no Center in the long-term future if they keep kozma they could pair him up with SAR in the front court and have a solid young front court for the future or they could trade Kuba and just have SAR but either way great pick for Washington if it comes to this situation but let me know who should go number one to the Atlanta Hawks Landry Fields the GM of the Hawks has a decision to make will he go re sache or alexar who should go number one let me know down below feels like the most common mock selection at this point inside the top five is Reed Shepard the guard from Kentucky going to the Houston Rockets and this would be a great pick for the Rockets who just need shooting and versatility and Reed Shepard brings that right he can be a Defender average two and a half steals a game for Kentucky shot over 50% from three he’s an excellent point of attack Defender can play on ball can play off ball the only question I have about him is how high is his ceiling I think he is Derek white type which is great teams would pick that at number three just doesn’t really have the highest ceiling in the world let’s get back to Stefan Castle heading to the San Antonio Spurs now I think this is a great fit for San Antonio and I would really like the selection on draft day I also think Nia topic is someone they should consider drafting but Castle who can play the one can play the two could even play the three also a good Defender spur need guard help Castle would give it to him another very popular Mock Draft selection is madas zus from the g-league ignite going to the Pistons this would just create maybe one of the most dynamic front Court Duos defensively in the NBA and allar Thompson and billus and after they just hired Fred Vincent to be a shooting coach getting him to develop billus in Thompson shooting game you already have their defense boy oh boy that could be a dominate dominant front Court pairing D connect heading to the Charlotte Hornets with pick six here good connecting piece here fits very nicely alongside oh I didn’t even realize what I did there ah what a what a shitty pun that was when you say no pun intended I legitimately mean that I did not think that that was going to mean that but at least I made my guy Jeremy chug chuckle behind the screen here but connect being able to pair nice with Brandon Miller and lamelo ball he can fit in any scheme one of the best volume Shooters in this draft then connect would be a solid fit in Charlotte Daman kinging slides all the way to seven here to the Portland Trailblazers could go number one could be all the way to seven I will say I think the absolute floor for kingan is the seventh overall pick the Blazers need to add a center and it would make sense to bring him in to the fold after Robert Williams and DeAndre Aon can never simply stay on the court really good Rim uh protector and lob threat would pair nicely in pick and roll situations with Anthony Simon Shane sharp and Scoot Henderson think kingan is a good fit in Portland and this would be the farthest he drops in my opinion Spurs double up at guard here with Rob Dillingham it’s actually pretty solid if you go castle at four dillingham’s probably a good selection a DAT because Dillingham could just be your Sixth Man scoring guard Off the Bench which is probably what I think his role is in the NBA because he’s not very big slight frame but he’s quick best handle in the class good shooter as well you get the scoring threat Off the Bench and Dillingham and the all-around guard to start with Castle I think it makes a lot of sense to go those two in the first round Cody Williams who Jonathan rosserman who covers the draft said if there’s a surprise player to go in the top five it would be Cody Williams the younger brother of Jaylen Williams from the Thunder good Defender three-point shooter really good roleplaying three and D guy to start his career ceiling is there if he’s able to develop a handle in isolation game rounding out our top 10 is the cola topic who I have my number two player in the entire NBA draft I am just really high on topic and his playmaking ability and if he improves his three-point shooting could be one of the the best point guards in the NBA with good size at 66 partially torn ACL is probably one of the reasons he slides here but the Jazz get their long-term point guard of the future next to Keon George in topish with a 10th overall pick if you want a two round mock draft from us here at chat sports today we’re reacting to ESPN in their selections but if you want us to bring our own mock draft this upcoming week like the video and showcase why you want a two- round mock draft from Chad Sports first pick outside the top 10 is Devin Carter to the Bulls the guard from Providence I’d actually be surprised if he slides outside the top 10 really good role play in guard who I think is going to go to the Grizzlies at the absolute worst Carter can shoot the three he can defend average eight rebounds in the Big East is a 6-2 guard great athlete big fan of Carter’s game and ability to contribute right away the saloon the forward from cholette AKA another Frenchman going to the Thunder this doesn’t surprise me as we’ve seen in the past that Sam prey wants to take these high upside guys like Saloon but to me I just think they should probably go for more size that could help them immediately like a kle wear maybe but Salon he can absolutely be a long-term play for the Thunder Ron Holland from the g-league going to 13 to the Kings he is an excellent Defender really really solid can move his feet extremely well great anticipation jumps the passing Lanes well the only issue with him and it’s a pretty big issue he is horrific shooting the basketball the simply can’t shoot jump shots bad form not not really good like he M his misses are bad either hitting side of the rim front rim air balls at times like if he can’t find a way to hit his shots off the catch then that’s a really concerning thing because he’s simply not going to be able to play in crunch time but there’s just no way he’s not a average to above average Defender right away for a contending team jacobe Walter 14 to the Trailblazers 3 and D guard big fan of him and the Blazers need to stack more Talent on this team I think jacobe Walter could be an excellent player Zack Edy for Purdue heading to the Miami Heat here at 15 Edy has been someone very divisive in the NBA draft circles I am not the highest on him but the ESPN group continues to mock draft Ed to Purdue or ex me to the heat I don’t see the fit but 74 79 Wings spam he’s absolutely someone that’s going to be intriguing player in the NBA get your NBA draft tats right now whether it is the heat whether it is the Warriors whatever your team is you can get the draft hats pick for them would be an absolute steal if you ask me because they got to fill out that roster they don’t have a lot of people on it um but they have a lot of cap space they’re going to go after Paul George Jimmy Butler we’re going to sign Tyrese Maxi but getting McCain who can defend and shoot the three ball coming off the bench makes a lot of sense for me I’m a big fan of Jared McCain Trista the Silva makes a lot of sense for the Lakers as they continue to compete toon Prince is he going to resign in free agency I don’t know but if he leaves they’re going to need a wing to help contribute to that rotation year one the Silva can absolutely be that guy someone who did it all for Colorado a year ago has a really good jump shot shot 38% from three but he also is a good playmaker and acted as the Hub almost at the top of the key for the Colorado offense not the most explosive player but is really good at doing the little things like boxing out crashing the offensive glass hitting the three ball spacer cuts at the right time as well just does a lot of good things and teams are going to want to Silva in the late Lottery early after the lottery if you tried and find a cheap rotation player right away Johnny Fury heading to the Orlando Magic with pick 18 this is one of my favorite players in the class if you just watch his film he has an absolute butter release dude like I’m like telling you unbelievable smooth how it is very young guy as well after coming over from Australia playing one year for the Kansas J Hawks he’s also a pretty solid Defender man really gets in the passing Lanes gets his hands on a lot of balls the only issue I have with him is that he doesn’t really have the upside to be like a ball handler or something to create on his own but I mentioned it best shot form in this draft it just is so smooth so fun to watch aesthetically pleasing in the magic be more shooting to surround PA Carol fron vogner I’d like this pick for them kaon George going to the Raptors at pick 19 Miami raw player good size didn’t play a lot for Lona in the Hurricanes a year ago but flashed really good three-point shooting and positional versatility this is a good pick for a team that’s not ready to compete for the next two or three years let George continue to build get him alongside Scotty Barnes Grady dick multiple players with good size and can do a lot of different things I’d like this pick for Toronto the Cavs go with Carlton Carrington AKA bub Carrington the guard from pit this almost feels like it would be a like Darius Garland replacement because Carrington has a very similar play style where he’s able to get to the mid-range and just shoot off the dribble quite a ton good jump shooter could be a good Sixth Man seventh man scoring guard Off the Bench for some teams right away Carrington would be fascinating for Cleveland would be curious to see how they build that roster depending on the Garland and Don Mitchell situations are you excited that the NBA draft is two days this year we set it off the top yeah they separated it for the first time round one round two if you’re excited for that type why if you’re not type n I’m pumped up so if you’re with me let me know the Pelicans potential grabbed their Jonas Valen chunis replacement and EES Mei the center from Baylor he is really athletic and did a lot of nice things this year for the Bears the thing that is the most intriguing to me the amount of times they gave it to him at the three-point line or high post let him face up and take his Defender off the dribble if he’s going to be able to continue that and develop that isolation game in 15 ft situations his upside is pretty high Tyler kic the guard from Marquette heading over to the Phoenix Suns at 22 this makes a lot of sense if they don’t trade back and do the bronny James things which has been rumored taking a guard that can contribute right away on the cheap because they need role players that can fit around Beal Booker and KD with those contracts so taking a guy that could contribute day one I think kok would be a great selection for them koud we slides a little bit here to 23 to the Milwaukee box he has been comped two miles Turner he has been C to Brook Lopez getting him to work behind Brook Lopez before he retires would make a ton of sense I don’t know if where’s going to slide this far but the former champions in 2021 would absolutely love this to get their Brook Lopez replacement for the future good versatility for his size shot 41% from three last year in Indiana not a lot of volume only shot one and a half shots a game but he’s a great athlete can Rim protect be a lob threat right away I’d love to see him learn behind Brook Lopez for a year Kyle filipowski one of two picks for the Knicks here 24 and 25 they also went with Ryan Dunn from Virginia here intriguing two players filipowski could be an Isaiah hartstein replacement if he leaves in free agency versatile big offensively that can space the floor but great for himself in the mid post as well as the low block and then Ryan Dunn would be such a Tom Tibido pick the best defender in this draft I mean it is unbelievable how good he is defensively he can Rim protect for a 66 guy because of his long arms and wings span moves feet probably the best perimeter defender in this draft one issue worst offensive player maybe absolutely no offensive game can’t shoot the ball really can’t create for himself if it’s not a rim running dunk or an alleyoop attempt on someone else facilitating for him there really not to love offensively Isaiah ker The Talented Guard from USC here goes here at 26 to the Wizards Ker’s an intriguing name because coming into this college season he was projected to be in the top or the first pick overall like talk but now all the way down to 25 26 in this mock draft I’m fan of him though because he could really get to the rim man Bulldog mentality got good sizes to him 62 63 65 wingspan but built strong like 210 215 pounds stocky uses his physicality nicely driving to the rim good athlete as well can really facilitate and has a good eye for the rest of the Court issue not the best jumper and he does need to figure that out if he wants to be a long-term guard for an NBA team teren Shen Jr the guard from Illinois who legal issues resolved and now he could be a top 30 selection he is as versatile as it comes he could play point guard he could play the two he could play the three like I love his length I love his ball handling start his career at Texas Tech ended with Illinois was one of the leading scorers in all of college basketball a year ago and he has an absolute knack for getting to the free throw line man average eight free throw attempts a game and for a college guard to do that is very very impressive and I like that he can play the two he can play he can play off ball you can play on ball the versatility will be something teams love and a team like Minnesota scooping him up to have as a guard piece Off the Bench makes a lot of sense Duron Holmes the center from Dayton heading to the Nuggets here at 28 holes allegedly received the promise from a team in the first round and canceled some workouts there was speculation that it was Denver I think that speculation is continuing to grow this is a popular Mock Draft selection for the NBA draft experts Baylor shyan the second Jazz pick here going at 29 I love Baylor shyan crafty left-handed scorer that can score at all three levels probably a top three shooter in this draft probably go him connect and reach Shepard as my top three guys shyman could do it all three levels I compare him the Joe Les in a way maybe it’s this lazy Lefty white guy comparison but he can score and he knows how to leverage his shooting into creating for others and even getting inside and hitting floaters for himself last pick in this draft pomi diet the guard SL forward out of Germany played for ratio Farm um last year high upside guy I don’t think he’ll be able to contribute on a roster for two to three seasons which why this picks a little peculiar to me like you would think that the Celtics after winning the title they’ve got a lot of money to go to Tatum Jaylen Brown Derek white they got to pay Kristof porzingis they got to pay they already paid Drew holiday they’re going to need cheap guys that can contribute now if they want to kind of repeat as Champions I don’t think Pome is really someone who can do that I think they should go more experience at pick 30 rather than go for a high upside guy 30 selections down and
