Utah Jazz listening to offers on Walker Kessler and Tobias Harris

there’s two new trade rumors today guys let’s talk about it it’s the Hoops ner [Music] show this first rumor is about Walker Kessler and it comes from Jake fiser at Yahoo sports I respect Jake a ton so this is one I listen to a lot in his article he talks about the Utah Jazz are willing to listen to offers on Walker Kessler and of all the rumors we’ve heard this is one I take this I think this is something that’s very real and the Jazz are definitely going to listen to that if you listen to my interview before with Andy lson there were some interesting things there I think there is definitely a disconnect after talking with Andy Larsson and things we saw this season and multiple rumors we had heard on online there’s kind of a disconnect there with the Utah Jazz what they see Walker Kessler being and what he sees himself being and maybe what the Jazz kind of think he can become uh is a little different than what Walker Kessler thinks he can become so the Jazz are looking for Walker Kessler to just be at the things they know he can be great at protecting the rim rebounding offensive rebounding defending where it sounds like Walker Kessler is more thinking that he can become the ne Brook the next Brook Brook Lopez that you know shooting threes spreading the floor being kind of an offensive threat and things like that and so I think there’s a disconnect there I don’t know if the Jazz believe Walker Kessler can be that type of player they definitely see him as a player that can be a defensive guy that can do a lot of things that way but maybe not necessarily those things and never say never Kesler might be able to develop into those things but we also saw some disappointing play from Walker Kessler last year where you know they want the Jazz just want him to be great at what he was when he was a rookie like we like you know the Rudy gobear kind of player where you’re protecting the rim rolling to the basket doing lots of things like that passing out of the short roll that type of thing and I think Walker Kessler’s disappointed that he did not make the starting unit but to be honest he did not really earn it he did not play great last year so I think this one you got to give it a lot of credit the question is what can the Jazz get for Walker Kessler are they looking to trade up in this draft do they want a player that spreads the floor kind of like John Collins does I think one thing we’ve definitely seen from these finals is that if you want to be a successful basketball team you do need to look at having a player that can spread the floor at all positions you know shoot pass dribble defend you know and Utah is probably looking for more players that can do all those things so I think that’s one’s interesting the second rumor is Tobias Harris is apparently the Utah Jazz are going going to are showing interest in Tobias Harris in free agency this one comes from Chris B Haynes you know National reporter TNT uh Bleacher Report and all of them we also saw I I can’t remember where the other rumor was but someone mentioned the same thing this could be just Tobias Harris’s agent is out there trying to drum up interest you know but you know we know like we’ve said before the Utah Jazz will do their due diligence and they will find out and that may mean just them calling the agent saying hey what is the cost you know can we get Tobias Harris on this Jaz team rehab his value and then trade him if we want who knows Tobias Harris was pretty darn underwhelming for the Philadelphia 7 I don’t know if I give as much credit to this also I just don’t know uh if this is going to even be possible for the Jazz because crispy Haynes mentions about six or seven teams that will have interest you know Utah San Antonio Detroit uh Dallas and a few others uh New Orleans I think is one of those teams and so if this turns into a bidding war it may not even be that possible for Utah because Utah is going to likely if they sign renegotiate low markkanen’s contract which would happen in August they will use cap space to do that and if they aren’t able to trade and create cap space with you know players like Jordan Clarkson and John Collins then they might not have the the the cap space to even do that so this may be much to do about nothing uh like like and like I said if if this becomes a bidding war and that may not that’s probably not a bad thing for Utah anyway Utah has to decide what they want to be do they want to develop young guys uh renegotiate lry Markin while developing youth do they want to or do they want to be a team that just goes out and tries to get players on the cheap it’s kind of what they did with John Collins is this kind of more of a John Collins Type move or do the Jazz want to focus on developing the youth it’s just another thing where the Jazz are kind of in this D otomy they don’t know what route are they going to go so we shall see but those are two interesting trade rumors that are going on
