In the Bucks’ case, it would one of the best actions one could run for two reasons: 1. Giannis is a briliant DHO action player, and Dame will be running from the paint to the 3P line, meaning he will be dragging his defender througout a ton of bodies. By the time he reaches Giannis, at the perimeter, he will be wide open for a 3P out of the DHO 2. Giannis will either have a “soft” paint or there will be a wide open shooter (Khris, AJ, Ajax, Pat) on the wing
It’s kinda weird we don’t really run DHOs that way, tbh. But if I were to guess as to why we didn’t do it, that would be our PGs couldn’t move fast and/or weren’t good shooters. With Dame, this would be ideal when he is away from Giannis.

That’s Spanoulis (aka VSpan), fam… One of the best point guards in Euroleague history, and the HC for the Greek national team.
