offering clay two years as well clay wants three and we know that the magic have serious interest in clay clay has interest in the magic if he doesn’t come back to the Warriors so why would they only two-year contract he added that a potential offer would be bigger than the 2-year $22 million contract that Orlando gave veteran Joe Eng Les as a free agent during the 20123 offseason Shams and Slater of the athletic revealed Monday that there is mutual interest between Magic and the five-time allstar so why would they only give him 2 years he’s 34 years old so it seems like 3 four years put you at 38 but again he’s coming off the knee a couple years ago the Achilles a couple years ago his production has gone down and it’s this new era that we’re in with the salary cap with the first apron second apron and having to pay your stars you’re not going to be able to pay three stars anymore so if you know that you have a big budget coming down the line then you have to be able to plan for that better we talked about on last podcast Warriors offering two years and this was per Tim McMahon clay wants three or four clay offered two years 48 million from the Warriors start the 2024 season he denied it that was uh before the calendar turn now they’re still offering two years we don’t know the deal probably 20 30 million range we reported that reports are hey that he may get $30 million on the open market and uh it would still be discount them from what like Dre got from what Steph got you know he probably wants his fair share but let’s look at the magic so we’re coming into the 2425 season two years puts them at 2425 and 2526 who do they got to pay in 26 27 Paulo benero he’s getting a super backs you can guarantee that unless something tra like terrible happens which we hope doesn’t Jaylen Suggs you have a feeling he’s going to get his bag is it the super backs probably not but it’ll be close fron Wagner he will get a big deal as well so if you include sugs and W Wagner they have to get extensions this offseason or they’re playing on their final year maybe they want to trade them they’ll use as a trade that’s it I don’t think so they were big players in that playoff push and then of course we just already brought up Engle so he got 22 million two years it’s off the books after this year so that would make sense if you give him something similar they said a bit more maybe he gets two years um 30 million so 15 per year may they give him 2 years 40 million 20 per year 2 years 25 million each so 50 million per year you can see here they have 5060 million in salary crap room for this upcoming year that 104 next year again it says 54 right now you know that’s going to go up when they give the extensions to sugs to Wagner f f i shouldn’t say F Wagner FR Wagner and then of course they have other people they may want to uh bring in Jonathan Isaac you know we’ve talked about we want him the Warriors if they don’t extend him because he’s playing behind Wagner not get as much playing time maybe there’s a sign and trade we’ve talked about this other things sign trade we give him clay if he doesn’t want to be with us we can get Isaac which would be a big help for us but that is kind of giving you an idea why he would only get two years with the magic because they have some big paydays coming up and again they’re staying younger maybe they don’t want someone at 36 they could do it one in one but why would clay do that one year guaranteed one year player option so hey new team first time in your career coming over the East Coast Orlando us with you how’s it all work out he can opt in maybe they give him that they end up doing a three-year deal two years guaranteed third year player option or third-year team option so that way he has that kind of guarantee but if he’s getting a two-year team with a excuse me a two-year guaranteed third year at the team it’s basically a two-year deal because the team controls you at that point I think he’ went two-year guaranteed player control for third year and he can figure it out and these are some of the dates we’ve talked about we already know gp2 exercise is option CH Ching I like that we talked about it there’s a video on the channel about it Looney contract $8 million only3 million is guaranteed so again we have 174 committed if you take off Looney because he’s going to get cut 5 million gone that takes you to 171 and Chris Paul’s 3 million will not be there so the next thing we need to know about is Chris Paul’s guaranteed June 28th on last feay we talked about hey Warriors have been talking to him potentially about moving it to July 5th that’s the conversation because then you know what’s happening free agency and it may be easier to trade Chris Paul at that point just like what happened with the Wizards so that’s a big thing and then you got Lester and then the extensions of Curry we already did pay in Taminga Moody Ludy we talked about as well so the big news here magic are offering two years not three clay wants at least three that’s the reports well Philly give him three Dallas doesn’t have the money we thought magic was the interest the mutual interest in playing together but this could also be hard ball if they know Wars are giving two why would we give three maybe we can give two get him for a bit less and he’ll choose us because perceive whatever
