After Phil Jackson, Shaq’s Agent Says Greg Popovich NBA’s “Last Respected Coach”, Thinks JJ Redick Should Take a Cue

“These star athletes can look at most coaches and say I make more than you, I know more than you. You can’t tell me anything. And by the way, if I don’t like you and the team doesn’t get rid of you, I’m going to go somewhere else. Phil Jackson might be last of the Mohicans and maybe Gregg Popovich.”

  1. WTF? There are plenty of respected coaches in the NBA. Mazzulla, Kerr, Spoelstra, Nurse, Malone, Brown all have titles which means they have gotten teams to buy in.

I don’t think titles deserve respect by itself for coaches, just look at doc rivers for example

Respect is a developing asset. You don’t magically come in the nba and inspire respect from day 1. It is completely possible that, 10 years from now, some young bud will be considered a towering figure because of their acheivements.

So it looks to me like dumbass takes without proper reflexion are a thing in shaq’ stable.

Pop, Spo, probably Kerr, Mazzula and Malone all have the respect and time put in to have their front office and higher ups on their side vs a player unless something CRAZY happened
