What do you want to bet we draft a center with a history of foot injuries? Welcome to Portland Donovan.Clingan…

Ok but in a draft like this, there is so much disagreement on which players actually are BPA, so bringing in the guy that fits your team, and will actually get development minutes in a role conducive to their strengths and their potential is going to help them become better faster. So maybe you take a guy that is slightly worse on draft night, but the fit helps him become a better player in the long run than a guy who would otherwise be buried on your bench.

I’m sure one could just as easily create examples where it works out.
There are four questions.
1. What is the players upside?
2. What is the players downside?
3. Can your team develop them to their upside?
4. Can your team extract value from them if a trade is required?
