[DraftExpress] Tyler Kolek has worked out for teams picking as high as the mid-to-late lottery (San Antonio, Utah) and has fans throughout the teens portion of the draft, ending with Orlando and Toronto at No. 18 and No. 19.

I’m just going to copy my thoughts on Kolek from a video i’m working on:
>In a draft like this, going with the safest option is a smart play and there aren’t going to be many picks more safe than Tyler Kolek in this range…and given he is OLDER than Scottie Barnes..well he better be.
>The 23-year-old is the definition of “complete”. He can score at all three levels, and efficiently at that, his decision-making with the ball is terrific – the man has an assist-to-turnover ratio of 3-to-1 – and his feel for the game is inspired. His defense is a major question mark due to him being 6’3 at most and he doesn’t have that “run you out of the gym” athleticism to make up for his lack of size but as far as floor generals go, you won’t find many safer options this late in the first round, let alone this draft, than Kolek.
If the team just wants a simple filling for the backup guard-shaped hole on the team, Tyler is it.

He’s a guy I’d be happy with at either pick.
