Dallas Mavericks 2024 Offseason Priorities
all right Dallas came up short in the NBA Finals wasn’t like I think this showed that the team needs to do a few things so today we’re going to be doing our offseason priorities for the Dallas Mavericks a team that could come back with vendant I mean two years ago they were Western Conference Finals team and then a little bit they you know The Following season they kind of have a gap year and they come back and they are in the NBA fups so following that Trend they either have a gap here next year or they’re going to be back very very soon so kudos to them now let’s get into what needs to be addressed I think this is a team that it’s it’s fun to watch the Dallas Mavericks but I think looking at Luca and looking at Kyrie they need a third score I love Jaden Hardy but Tim Ordway Jr was MIA to the point that Jaden Hardy was considered a more reliable option than Tim Hardaway Jr in the NBA Finals as a scoring option when Kyrie and LC were on the bench so I want to hear your guys’ thoughts this is a team that they don’t have a first round pick but they have a second round pick and I expect them to use the second round pick because in my opinion it would be a travesty to not use that second round pick on a player in this draft class who could provide depth so what’s one of the biggest things they have to do well I think they’re going to have to create Financial flexibility to resign Dereck Joe’s Jr they’re projected to be a tax team the Dallas Mavericks and they’ll only have the $5.1 million tax exception so if I I were them I would make sure to go ahead and like try to maximize the contracts and the players on this roster for the foreseeable future because this is a very very good team and I feel like when you look at it if we don’t capitalize on the the tal on this team keeping the players that are worth keeping on the roster at then going out and adding more players around those said players would be dumb because clearly this is a good team it’s a team that plays defense and compliments Luca and Kyrie all I’m saying is we need a third score I’m not saying we need a third guy we need a third score so what do I mean by that like a Malik monk okay A I A Norman Powell but I don’t know if they’re going to be able to get that it won’t be cheap so basically before we go any further let’s just talk about what the roster looks like who for their free agents that they have to prioritize outside Derrick Jones and crazy enough it’s no janen lordy AJ Lawson omx Dante aom Dwight pal Derrik lley kba Josh Green gaffer PJ Washington Tim Hardway Kyrie Luca are all under contract next season which means Tim Hardway Jr is probably going to be a trade chip maybe Dwight Powell I think they love Dwight Powell though but like Tim orway J is their most realistic trade chip now you have to understand you know that whole scoring guy I was talking about do you believe Jaye Hardy can be that guy and during the final year of his contract he can be extended for a four-year deal and with the guard who is out of the rotation Tim Hardaway being replaced by Jaden Hardy do you use him as a trade asset as Dallas also has the 25 and 2031 first round picks available while Dante exom I believe showed enough this season to stay on the team or either be used as a trade chip this season he average 8 points 49% from three and play 20 minutes a night so with the 58th pick I really think they’re just going to take who’s ever the best player available at that time and for me right now if I had a look who is going to be available let me look at my big board go check out my at who type though what we’ve done but so I I think a guy like Trey Alexander Jaylen Wells Wells Jaylen Wells Juan yunz Jaylen Bridges o Oso igu adoro Enrique Freeman I think Freeman’s gonna be gone Harrison Ingram Jonathan mogbo Jamal Sheed are all guys who couldn’t be available at that range that I think are definitely worth warranting now guys that I think were definitely going to be available at 58 maybe a Tristan Newton an Antonio Reeves neol Dante Isaac Jones Jesse Edwards Boogie Elli naon Tomlin Isaiah Crawford would really be good for them outside of that yeah think anybody too crazy so that’s something you do have to understand is that if they can go and get somebody on the contract or if they can find a prospect through undrafted free agency that’d be good so they need to extend D Jones like I’ve said they need to find a playmaker you know Chris Dunn would be cool if you guys look at the 24 free agency so a backup point guard is the first thing they need in terms of like I I really do think if they can have a backup point guard that would alleviate some of the problems that they have and I think again a backup point guard is just one of the easiest ways to do that and who’s go Spencer DWI is a guy they could bring back he could be someone cheap Kyle Lowry’s another guy who could be cheap Pat Beverly Chris D Aaron holiday mark folds Dennis Smith Jr Monte mois Jordan Goodwin Patty Mills Malachi Flynn Danon Wright all options I think they should consider now in the shooting guard department is there a kind of a six-man that they like Lonnie Walker would be great for them I don’t know what Gary Trent or DeAnthony Milton or Isaiah Joe’s contracts are going to be worth but those are all options I would love for them Eric Gordon could be somebody Al Burks I really like the idea of Lonnie Walker being their guy and so they they have options and outside of that I think they need maybe a power forward to to give them depth or like a combo forward and it’s not like the markets you know has a bunch of those guys like Kyle Anderson would be really good for them in my opinion a toian prince a Nick Batum J rowder could he might be a little over the fence but you’re getting the the vibe on putting out there well outside of that I just I think if you want a third big I know they don’t really have another big a pure big on this roster outside of lively I mean there’s pow and stuff but like a guy who also matches the same play style as live Le and gatford there Jaylen Smith could be that guy there isn’t tons of op in that side but like there’s things they can do so I don’t know I want to hear your guys’ opinions what would you do if you were the Dallas Mavericks and why it’s definitely going to be an interesting offseason as they have a variety of things that they’ll be able to do and I’m curious to hear what you you guys would do if you were Nico Harrison I just think you need to trade Tim Hard Away Tim hard away and if he package Tim hard way with Dante exom you could go after like a $20 million player or get multiple contracts so if you can find a deal to get like I said that’s the coveted six in the end you got to do that

Would Orlando trade issac/ Anthony fir Hardaway/Hardy 2025 pick
@cyro asseo realistically dallas first round picks are trash as they are late picks and wont have much value. jaden hardy is a bench player at best. same with josh green. so really unless they willing to trade lively, they wont get an all start. hardaway jr if he plays well will get you a 2nd round pick at best.
dallas only avenue is to try to get someone in free agency. they really needed to trade for og anunoby is the reality. so their best hope is to try to poach og who is estimated to be getting 38-43 million a year for 4 years at least. too many players on dallas play bad defence.
basically its dallas trying to trade a lincoln town car in hardaway for a porche or a ferarri worth 200k. its not gonna happen.
Jaden Hardy has a long way to go to be a third option. He really does more bone head plays than Washington Jr. and Jones Jr. combined Dallas has to move these players: 1) Powell; 2) Kleber; 3) THJ.
They have also to work on some off-ball movement and shooting.. as ISO play of Kyrie and Luka will not work anymore. They have to put some activity on the floor. Luka has to be rested as well, although he will most likely play for his country. They have to work also on defense. For our two bigs, conditioning, mid range, some post moves, and freethrows should be the priority.
I would say a 3rd guy, Creator/scorer/ playmaker. Monk is nice, but the key is to also lower the usage of Kyrie & Luka some in the regular season, so more so someone that can run an offense, score, or run it through. Hardy was solid in the Playoffs but I rather a win now or near win now kinda guy. Between Hardy & Green, I'm keeping Green, he's a spark plug, proved he can play in big time games.

Monk, brogdon, Dinwiddie, Bogdanovic, Garry Harris, Gary Trent jr, Kevin huerter, Alec burks, Corey kispert, monte morris, shake Milton would all be decent options for the third creator role.
Wings/bigs could be guys like Jon Isaac, Dorian, deni advija, cam Johnson, pwill, Larry nance, cedi osman, Bobby Portis, Kelly Olynyk, Torrey Craig, Niang.
Is possible if u can replace guys such as kileber Tim hard away and Josh green for guys like Malcom brogdon Andrew Wiggins while also signing Gary Trent jr
Thybulle for Josh Green and draft pick. Cam Spencer in this draft, get free agents as Pippen Jr and Garuba ( good defenders) and trade Kleber and Exum
mikal bridges and jerami grant should be the main targets
hardway jr and kleber NEED to be traded, they make 17 mill and 11 mill each, with a first round that should be enough, and a 3rd team included, that should be enough to get a guy like mikal bridges
Sign and trade for derozan and Drummond in exchange for this years 2nd, Thj, prosper
and gafford, and maybe another 2nd? Then try for a minimum contract upgrades to fill the roster, hopefully also bring back jones jr off the bench? Still need offensive off the bench so maybe another try at dinwidee?
Deni Avdija, Marcus Smart, Kispert, and Bogdanovic are players that are very fit to this team.
Smart is the #1 priority for me.
Long shot go after Paul george heavy if it doesnt take to much to get him and then go from there. Paul george can create his own shot, he can make plays, he can shoot off ball , and hes a great defender when hes not being forced to be the guy on the team. All mavs need is a efficient 18 pts 6 boards 4 assits with great defense. We dont beed him to be a star he can be great as a 3rd option
