so could the Brooklyn Nets be trading away male Bridges to the Charlotte Hornets this 2024 NBA offseason well here in the screen is a trade proposal or a trade idea from fadeaway world.net the link to this article is down below in case you want to check out the entire thing uh for yourself but this trade would see the Charlotte Hornets receiving male Bridges and the Brooklyn Nets receiving Davis Bruton Trey man the number six overall pick this year in the 2024 be a draft a 2027 first round pick via the Dallas Mavericks and a 2027 first round pick via the Miami Heats now my immediate thoughts on this deal is that it’s a pretty good trade for the Hornets because they are getting back the best player in this deal a player that can help them win now and pretty much at this point the new phase of this franchise moving forward but I don’t think that at the end of the day Mel Bridges is being actively shopped or will be traded whatsoever by the Brooklyn Nets the Brooklyn Nets have made it pretty clear that they would rather add another star player like ad Donovan Mitchell for example to play alongside male Bridges as opposed to trading him for some future draft Capital which they would be getting back in this deal now if you are the Brooklyn Nets getting back the number six pick this year and two future first round picks in 2027 is definitely pretty appealing and intriguing uh but keep in mind as well the Brooklyn Nets actually don’t have a lot of their draft picks moving forward so it’s probably not in the best interest of this franchise to not really be a very good team while their draft picks are elsewhere and so to repeat what happened a couple years ago when the Nets were terrible but the Celtics had their draft picks and got Jason Tatum and Jaylen Brown so the package itself isn’t terrible but in a pretty weak draft this year all things considered uh the number six pick doesn’t have the weight that it would in some other years and I think that if you are the Charlotte Hornets you’re getting back the best player in this deal a player that can help them win now and be the new face of the franchise moving forward if this were to happen to play alongside players like Lamela ball and the rest of that roster so in my personal opinion it’s a pretty big time dub uh for the Charlotte Hornet but uh you know if you disagree or you know agree leave your thoughts down below
