Jerami Grant To The Dallas Mavericks TRADE Reports ESCALATING…

just the other day I put out a video going over a potential leak between the Dallas Mavericks and the Portland Trailblazers where we speculated over what type of player the Dallas maver are trying to go after whether that’s matis styel Malcolm Brogden or Jeremy Grant but just a few hours ago there was official reports coming out saying that the Dallas Mavericks have been in trade talks with the Portland Trailblazers over Jeremy Grant so in this video we’re going to go over all those reports see if Jeremy Grant can actually help this team in the short term or long term and if we actually have the assets to facilitate a trade but how’s it going everybody my name is marel Martin this is Mavericks digest bringing you the latest news on everything Mavericks related before we get start with today’s video I just want to say thank you guys so much for hitting that subscribe button we just hit 11,000 subscribers which is amazing I have my own personal goal of hitting 15K right before the season starts and it might be the offseason but it’s not my offseason like I said I’m bringing you content every single day maybe even twice a day on rumors trade talks Rumblings anything in between and if you don’t want to miss out on a single thing that the Dallas Mavericks do make sure you subscribe thank you guys so much like I said in this in intro of this video we’re talking about Jeremy Grant there was some some weird leaks from a Twitter page the other day talking about a potential trade between the Dallas Mavericks and the Poland Trailblazers this Twitter page dropping dimes 50 tweeted out the Portland TR wazers and Dallas Mavericks are in the midst of trade negotiations and in that last video I put in the comment section I was getting I was getting just roasted talking about why would you believe any Twitter page anybody could have said this you believe anything I did say take it with a heavy grain assault and the only reason why we looked at this tweet was because they also talked about how the Los Angeles Lakers and their whole Co Co situation with JJ reck where they called it right before it actually happened and although I think we all could have assumed that the D I’m sorry that the Los Angel Lakers would go after JJ reic you want to look at this as maybe this page has a little bit of Insider information maybe it’s someone’s burner account but like I said there did this this little leak was actually validated today where the Dallas Mavericks have checked in on Jeremy Grant per Ian Begley saying teams have tons of conversations about potential trades at this point in the league calendar several teams including the Mavs have checked in on Jeremy Grant situation in Portland Grant 30 is entering the second season of a 5-year $190 million contract with the with the Portland Trailblazers so maybe that page is a page that we want to keep our eye on maybe they actually know what they’re talking about or maybe they’re just guessing throwing anything at the wall hoping it sticks maybe they got lucky like I said before take it with the grain of salt because until the trade actually goes down what do we really know but if we are talking about Jeremy Grant we can take a closer look at the type of player we could potentially get if we pull off a trade he puts up 21 points per game 3.5 rebounds 2.8 assists 6 PLS point8 rebounds 2.1 turnovers 2.2 fouls per game shooting 45% from the floor 40% from three he’s a 67 guard 30 years old he shoots 46% on Corner threes 97% of his threes are ass are assisted and 32% of all shots are threes and I think this is a player that would work well with the Dallas Mavericks now I’m not sure if his scoring would still be around 21 points per game Luke and Kyrie do a heavy part of our offense today they score the majority of our points but we all have been saying we need a third scoring option and a player like Jeremy Grant would fit perfectly whether you put him in a power forward position or the small forward it would work great the only thing here that I would be a little bit concerned of obviously the turnovers aren’t great Luca can finish a game with a triple double with five turnovers but the two turnovers is a little bit glaring but also the rebounds if you’re going to be a Ford I expect you to be more active on the glass than just 3.5 rebounds but when you’re the best player on the Portland Sher Blazers and you’re putting up 21 points you probably don’t have time to get rebounds like I said he’s I mean he’s also playing a ons side DeAndre Aton and a couple other guys who are also getting rebounds so maybe he’s not asked to do that but the type of player that Jeremy Grant would be for the Dallas M team would be amazing if he can continue to shoot 40% from three 46% on Corner threes that would be amazing Luca and Kyrie do a wonderful job of getting Guys open and one of the biggest issues we had in the playoffs was guys missing wide openen threes it seems like we were actually better at shooting contested threes than wide open threes and with a player like Jeremy Grant we could actually play eff ficient small ball instead of relying on Maxi C to be that five or that four for us we can go to Jeremy Grant who he could actually do pretty well in a pick and roll situation with Luc or Kyrie more like a pick and pop situation to hit those threes Jeremy Grant could open up a whole new layer of offense for the Dallas Mavericks the starting five could consist of Luca Kyrie you put PJ to the three you put Jeremy Grant at the four you got Derek ly or Daniel Gafford at the five you put Derrik Jones Jr if you can sign him back you put Dar Jones Jr on the bench where your second unit could be Jaden Hardy Dante exom you got either Daniel Gafford Derrick Livy not too sure who’s going to start next year but then you got Josh green if you can keep him along with Derrick Jones Jr that’s a pretty good second lineup while the while the starters get some rest that’s the second lineup that I actually like that would definitely help our bench in the playoffs one of the glaring issues that we fell especially in the third and the final or third round and the finals was our bench scoring where some nights they look great everybody was contributing it was amazing or like game five where no one could find a shot and we had to go to players like Maxi cber we had to go to players like Tim Harley Jr to try and get a bucket when no one’s hitting their shots not even luuka Kyrie and I understand LCA was hurt he was hurt the majority of the playoffs but when your starters aren’t getting you any shots where no one can shoot their three you got to look to the bench and hopefully with a player like Jeremy Grant we can put Dar Jones Jr to the bench which could open up again another layer of offense where Dante xam and Jaden Hardy can help run the offense guys get open guys can hit more shots so it could definitely work for us I think Jeremy Grant’s a great player we also need another player who could put the ball on the floor outside of luuk and Kyrie PJ seems to be the the only player who can actually put the ball on the floor Derek Jones Jr can definitely attack the basket PJ can do it a little bit better but having Jeremy Grant who can also do that again just adds another layer we can shoot the three ball we can do a a pick and roll a pick and pop we can also give the ball to Jeremy Grant where if it’s an isolation situation he can put the ball on the floor go one-onone and attack the basket we all know how Luca and Kyrie love the iso play more so Luca likes the iso play a lot of herob ball but I but I I honestly think that Jeremy Grant would be a great addition however there are some things that we do need to talk about CU that contract is a little bit egregious if we just take a look right here Jeremy Grant is making what about five it was a 5year $190 million contract and into this upcoming season he is owed $29 million the following year 32 million the year after that’s about 34 where it goes up to $36 million but I don’t think it’s that bad a lot of people are saying this is a very bad contract I don’t think it’s that bad if we’re trying to make a championship run you might need to open up that checkbook and actually spend a little bit of money I know we’re either above the second apron or we’re right before the second apron but the owners already said in and and Nico Harrison said himself the team is willing to spend to win a championship to make a good push and even though Jeremy Grant has really been the most loyal player in the league where he’s only ever spent three years on a team at most getting him this early in his contract secures us for at least three years with this player with a player option at the end of the contract where he would be about 33 you could potentially sign him back for a little bit less he would be unrestricted free agent or you just let him go if we already won or you let him go if it’s not working try and get some draft picks it opens up options down the road it secures you a pretty good contract that I’m not too mad at it’s not as bad as Tobias Harris or any other you know heavily paid player in the league I think that’s right where you want to be if you want to get a player that can fit the starting lineup but what would a trade actually have to look like to get Jeremy Grant in the last video I talked about adding Josh Green to the deal and not many people were happy about that I definitely want to keep Josh Green I think he has a lot of hustle for for the Dallas Mavericks but a trade like this now let’s thr on our GM jackets real quick let’s let’s see if we can finesse the Portland Trail lasers in this trade scenario we get Jeremy Grant where we only trade away Tim Hardway Jr Maxi CER and the 2025 first round pick and if this can actually happen I think you definitely pull it off that fixes our problem of two players Off the Bench who just don’t do anything for you you add a you add a starter and Jeremy Grant who can be an instant impact but do the Portland trilers actually go for this probably not I mean Tim harway Jr will be a player that that is going to get traded this summer he has an expiring contract that a lot of teams will actually like to have off the books next year Maxi kba may be a little bit harder to trade he’s injured right now he didn’t play that well but you definitely are going to have to include some picks to the Portland Trailblazers they are trying to go young they’re going through a rebuild they have like two picks in the first round of the draft so if you can entice him with a few more first round draft picks or a couple second round draft picks a trade like this may be far-fetched but it is a starting point where maybe you do have to add a Jaye Hardy or a Josh green but you guys let me know down in the comments section down below do you think that Jeremy Grant is a player that we can realistically go after and if what would you trade for Jeremy Grant but thank you guys for making this far to the video check out our Twitter and Discord links in description below 1. It’s not a good contract, but it’s not horrendous either. And also, it’s precisely because he is on a bad contract that makes it such that Dallas could actually put together a realistic trade for him. It’s going to take two firsts (2025 and 2031) and possibly O Max to get him though

  2. As a Blazers fan, I will only warn you once. RUN AWAY FROM GRANT AS FAR AND FAST AS YOU CAN. He is everything that is terrible about the modern NBA. I will laugh at the team dumb enough to take out Portland's trash.

  3. I disagree about PJ. When it gets crowded around the basket, it’s an instant turnover for PJ! He typically gets the ball knocked out his hand!

  4. Andrew Wiggins is a better fit!! THJ & Kleber's salaries add up perfectly!! PJW & Wiggins at the Forward positions give them 2 scoring threats… 💪🏾💪🏾

  5. I mean if we don't have to give to much for him then sure like if they want thj for him (they won't) otherwise pass we don't need anyone over 27 or 28

  6. Blazers fan here.. would absolutely love to see Jerami get traded to an actual team. He would absolutely THRIVE in the Mavs offense!

  7. He's on a very fat contract. In theory a THJ and Maxi trade to take on a lot of future salary works if Portland wants out of that contract. We'd have to hope no one offers DJJ more than the MLE but that's kind of already the case

  8. He only has 4 years left and as a blazer fan he is fine at that price…….i think he 8s definitely a small forward and pdx uses him as the pf…….just stupid…….and then they tank every year now
