Who should the Atlanta Hawks draft No.1 overall in the 2024 NBA draft?

right then welcome back to the channel and it is that exciting time of the year for NBA fans as the 2024 NBA season is now over Banner 18 has come home and it’s nearly time for the NBA draft and for the off season now in today’s video we’re going to talk a little bit about the Atlanta Hawks the first overall pick on who they should draft but first we’re going to talk a little bit about the Hawks and as it is an off season which is quite unknown for the Atlanta Hawks now the Hawks got the pick in a surprise Lottery where they went up in the draft and they gained number one pick however there has been rumors that they may trade the pick down they might look to bring in a star or a veteran player but it’s pretty unknown the value of this number one pick due to the draw class being deemed as lower quality but the real questions for the Atlanta Hawks going into this offseason that man you saw a minute ago and his partner in the back court with the jeante marray now the Atlanta Hawks have this young almost you’d think it should be a star Duo of muray and young but it’s just not working in the NBA and if you watch the Hawks you can see the two are fantastic offensively but they just don’t work together either one has a great night or the other has an off night and it just doesn’t flow as a Duo this makes us believe that the Hawks will look to trade either maybe Trey young or Deon Maru or they may even click the reset button and trade them both now that is my real question with the Hawks on whether or they’ want to trade down the pick maybe the Spurs want to trade up and get Alex SAR if they want to pick him as one partner him with Wy and really keep up with the French Revolution going on in San Antonio now another question I have with the Atlanta Hawks and the first pick is what are they going to do with onao as he was drafted in recent times and he’s predominantly played as a backup to Clint capella as the five and it looks like aong Wu now is going to be the hawk starter at the five the next season until they got the number one pick but now that the Hawks have got the number one pick the future of a comu is almost up in arms because we don’t know whether aamu is going to want to play as the backup now if they’re going to draft kingan if they’re going to draft Alex s and they deem s to beat a five that is some real questions for the front office at Atlanta to go into this summer due to these reasons and obtaining the first pick in the draft for the first time in their history for Atlanta is a really big summer in ATL and this is really could be franchise determining I know this isn’t scheduled to be the big draft and people don’t think it is going to be a great draft but it’s quite a deep draft and you don’t know whether the best player in Allstar could be pick one he could be pick 17 pick 15 so Atlanta really needs to get this right and if they were to draft a saw he could be their franchise player but then they also could lose Trey Trey young they could use Deontay Murray this summer they could get that pick wrong and it’s looking it’s looking a bit groom in Atlanta but they could still obviously get another pick and you never know but it’s a big summer for ATL right after looking at what Atlanta can do we’re now going to have a look at the three main prospects who I believe could be picked by Atlanta as number one and that will be the French phenomenon Alex SAR his other French counterpart Zachary rash and Yukan Champion Mr Donovan kingan now we’re going to start off with the man who for a long time in this process has been scheduled to be bit number one and that is Alex s now let’s talk a little bit about Alex s now s is a seven-footer obviously and he’s another French player that’s coming from overseas I played at Australia last season and he’ll be coming into the NBA at 19 years of age now s is a modern big he can cover space quickly he can shoot and he can create for himself which makes s such an exciting prospect s is a big but he has the skills at a guard at times he’s got good handles he’s got creativity which allows him to create his own looks s is also a good Defender because of how quickly he can move his feet and how quickly he can cover space he can guard almost one to five at times because of how quick he moves and how good a Defender he is s’s also got good blocking skills and he’s a great defensive Anor which means that NBA teams while s might not have currently all of the offensive game that you want his defensive skills just puts him up and it puts him as a really good Prospect in the NBA pass s due to his height also allows him to help the Hawks in their of size so s whether or not the Hawks if they would pick him would choose him to play as the five or as the four S would be a big part of just helping that Hawk size now some of the weaknesses of Alex SAR is that he’s not yet a consistent shooter now saw while he does have the creativity to create his own looks and he can make his own looks he doesn’t yet just have that consistency from knocking down shots from Beyond The Arc so he’s not as good a three-point shooter he’s getting there and it does need something developing be has got the potential to get that shot going he’s also not an amazing shooter from the free throw line which is a bad bad bad thing coming into the NBA his teams will not like that but if s can get in the gym over to Summer he can develop that free throw shot he’ll be much more consistent and be much better productive shooter in the NBA now s also due to his body he’s going to be heavily used in the pick and roll and wellar can pick and pop one of his weaknesses is is his strength and that is something he needs to do when he comes into the NBA is develop his strength get more wide get more muscly because he’s a big body 7 foot he just needs to develop that strength so he can be efficient in a pick and roll now in a pick and roll as well s is consistently one that pops and he comes out the back of a pick and roll from a guard and the guard will dish him the ball s is normally hesitant with pull up freeze after a picking W which is a big no because that is where you want s to be shooting that’s where you want the automatics that’s another thing that he will need to develop coming into the NBA is his shot off a pick and roll don’t be don’t be hesitant you know what you’re going to do just be decisive and pull up and shoot right then now that we talked about the sort of defensive anchor of the draft the man who was predicted to be number one throughout the draft process it’s time to move on to the man who’s Now sort of sweeped his way in and he looks like he may well be the number one pick Zachary rash now then along with it’s another Frenchman in rash that is coming through the ranks and this French Revolution is really coming into the NBA now as you’ve got Victor wanyama you’ve got bow Kabal of recent years now you’ve got Rees a and you’ve got Alex s partner that with the already French players in the NBA such as Rudy go you’re really seeing a French Revolution from Europe that’s hitting the NBA in America now which is a really exciting thing to see as a European myself it’s really exciting to see the Game grow across the world and it’s really good to see that in Europe now basketball’s becoming a big sport now when it comes to R AET he’s got a long frame and a really really long wing span which is really ideal for an NBA Wing now ret obviously plays as a small forward he’s physically a really good Prospect an exciting prospect for an NBA drafter coming into this and R is a really efficient shooter he shot 56% from Two and he shot 47% from three in his process in coming into the draft so R is a really good Prospect when it comes to shooting the basketball and that is an exciting thing to say for an NBA Scout because they want someone who’s going to shoot the Hoops he’s going to shoot the ball maybe if Hawks lose Trey young they lose dejonte Murray the Hawks are really going to need someone to come in from this draft and shoot the ball and while Alex sa is a really good Defender he might not be that man who’s going to get you 20 points a night he might not be that man that’s going to have a big game for you R might be that man and that might be exciting for the Atlanta Hawks now where R is really strong in his offensive game is his catch and shoot at the basketball rash is really strong when catching and just shooting and this could be really good and it could translate into the NBA as we could see maybe a prospect like Jared McAn also coming into the chaft he’s a really good shootter the ball these are players you think maybe will come into the NBA and will translate their skills as you could see someone like R been a really good piece in a good team we’ve seen the importance in in a team like the Boston Celtics of just those catch and shoot guyses on your roster Jason Tay draw the double Chris UPS coming in and just catching the ball shooting Drew holiday Derek white these are guys you really want to pick up and this could be one of those prospects in ret that the Atlanta Hawks want and they could use in a future team that could be just one of those guys where you’re going to shoot lights out or ret definely could be the number one option but if R is a two if he’s a three option he could be a really valuable piece due to his catch and shoot game now along with his offense R is also a really good Defender he’s got really good perimeter defense as he’s able to move and slide with his man stay in front of him which allows ret to be really good on the defensive end and a good player to almost guard guards or guard desal forward who can move about and they are going to be shooting the basketball so R is really good at just slide and move those hits move those legs R also has a really good defensive IQ which means that he can when needed move in for help or when needed he can almost call for help his IQ in defense really allows him to be efficient and that means that he can make defensive stops and make defensive plays to help out his team now some of the weaknesses for Reet is pretty similar to Alex saw when it comes to his strength ret is a tall guy he’s got a long frame he’s got a long wingspan but that means he is quite skinny and he comes into lead needing to buff up work in the gym over the summer and just get his strength up and while he needs to also buff up in the gym he also needs to just work on a bit of consistency in his offensive Game and his physicality for a scout ret would be a really really exciting player to draft but he just has that ress in his game where he needs to work on his physicality and his finishing in this off season so he can be a really good player at NBA level let’s finish off and talk about the last man who’s been predicted and been tooted to be the number one pick for the Atlanta Hawk and that is the Yukon Center Donovan kingan now along with Stefan Castle kingan led the huskys to their second straight title and he’s just a fantastic defensive prospect clining is a really good rim protector and he’s a big body in the paint that plays drop defense and could be really good for getting those balls getting those blocks he looks like a really exciting prospect coming into the NBA clingan’s elite defense and is above average screening just makes him that stward that you want in your team defensively and kingan is also a really efficient shooter he was really good in college he often LED offensive efficiency I believe he was second in the hole of the NCAA for efficiency and that is really exciting for a center as he also average 13 points now an underrated part of kingan’s game I think is his game IQ as that allows kingan at times to be creative and have good passing lanes because he can see them and that allows Clingan to make opportunities for his teammates and also when a Big’s drawn to him he can always kick it out to someone who’s free and open to shoot and that’s a really good part of kingan’s game that not many are talking about but I think could really translate well into the NBA when it comes to kingan’s weaknesses there is a little bit more to talk about than Rec and S who almost the players you want they’re just raw and they’re not the finished article yet but when it comes to kingan his free throw shooting another one that can’t really shoot free throw and that is a big worry coming into the NBA another thing is his limited offensive game as he is very restricted almost he’s not going to shoot freeze he’s not going to shoot mid-rangers he’s going to you know be a paint Beast he’s going to pick up those LS he’s going to slam it down which is an exciting and he can be dominant in the NBA if these big def is in the NBA can limit him his offensive game really could be restricted kingan is also almost a moreo by Walter Kesler if you like but his footwork is a bit clumsy at times I think that is one of his weaknesses while he can move quite bigly for a 7 fo2 Center he can be clumsy and that is a bit of a worry if you you know you don’t want to foul in the paint you’ve seen the importance of fouls in the paint with really good bear and Carl anony towns in these playoffs where they’ve just been fouling and silly early fouls can really cost your team and there’s a possibility of clinging because of his clumsy football he could pick up some fouls and the other worry for kingan and this is the main one when you’re looking at a prospect because as we say in football the most important attribute is your availability and a big worry for kingan is his injury and his injury record so when you’re looking at kingan he is a very good Prospect and a very exciting prospect but does the injury record and the possibility of injuries really putting down your Peck in order because you want a player especially if you’re the Hawks who maybe will lose obviously they’re big two stars you want this rookie especially as number one to come in and play a big role next season now that we’ve looked at the fre prospects I’m just going to talk about who I think I would pick number one and while I don’t think this is what the Atlanta Hawks are going to do now in real life as it seems like they’re almost drawn to someone else I will personally go with Alex S I think Alex s is a fantastic defensive player and if he just gets that offensive game he gets that strength up he could be a really dominant player in the NBA I think s is similar to Triple J jiren Jackson junr he reminds me of and I think he has that if he can get the offense up he has the potential to be almost a jannis type player I think you know that’s a big seeding it’s a big thing to say to be like jannis but I just think s has got the ability and he has got that potential the intangibles the raw attributes to be the physical attributes to be like Janis and I think that’s exciting if I was a scout and I would be drawn to a s because I think if the Hawks it’s it’s a worst draft class as people are saying compared to other years and you pick the guy in my opinion who has the best current ability the best potential and I think sa just has that he has the physical attributes you want he’s played well in Australia and I just think potential is really high for S where as I think where the media now and everything is pointing I think the Atlanta hwks are going to pick Zachary re as their number one pick I think that’s where the media are pointing that’s what we’re hearing you know I think with the work out situation as well Alex s did not work out with the Hawks but reset did I think that is what we’re looking at as the number one pick now when it comes to donin kinging I think there’s a real possibility we could see someone trade up for him and we spoke about the possibility of the Hawks trading their pick earlier the possibility of San Antonio I think there’s also a real possibility kingan could get traded for I mean there’s been reports of I think it was um Chicago balls the Memphis Grizzlies really liking clining gon and I think the Blazers as well could like him so I think we could be in for a trade here maybe not the Chicago Bulls after what we’ve seen recently with getting rid of Caruso I thought Caruso could have been involved in the deal but OB see they opted for Josh kidy I think Donovan kingan could really have an interesting draft night now I really appreciate you watching the second video on the channel the first video all
