  1. I don’t believe in the defense personally I think he will be good at playing passing lanes but still get hunted on ball

However getting him and then an upside swing like Holland Buzelis or Salaun at 8 would be cool. I would say giving Wemby a guy who can space the floor and run an offense is the best thing we can do for him

Out of all the players that I can see being top 4 picks, I feel like reed has the least chance of being there at 4. He just seems like a perfect fit for the rockets and I can’t see them passing on him. I feel like Sarr has a greater chance of slipping to 4.

Seems pretty straitforward to me: take whichever is available between Risacher, Sarr, Sheppard, and Castle. It’s unlikely but possible they’ll get to choose between 2 of them and in that case any is fine.

The case against: He’s never going to be a high-end creator at the PG position and his skillset is best suited as a two.

The problem is, he’s very small for a two with a short wingspan.

While he has good defensive advanced metrics, those miss that he got blown by constantly in college and really can’t guard anyone and stay in front of them. People suppose he’ll be some magical help defender off-ball, but how many short, short-armed guys are that?

Can he shoot it? Yeah, I guess. He only took 4 threes off of screens all season, though. And not *that* many off the dribble. And, honestly…the 3 point rate per 100 possessions wasn’t super-duper high. So there’s no real reason to believe he’s a Curry-level (or even Redick level) shooter off movement. He’s nowhere near the ballhandler, creative passer, or twitchy guy Curry is, either. So if that’s your comp, stop it. He also just turned 20, which is pretty old for a 1-and-done, so you’re not getting quite the same youth case you get from, say, Bub Carrington (13 months younger)

He’s also got virtually no juice off the dribble. He’s not going to really pressure a defense. Yeah, you can’t go under screens. But you can fight over them because he’s just not that twitchy and can’t do much if he tries to get downhill. Yeah, he has good P-n-R numbers in VERY small volume. But again, in the NBA, teams will fight over screens and won’t be worried about him blowing by guys going to the rim. So I question whether that fully translates either.
