@MavsFilmRoom: Oh the “Take Dat Wit You” Podcast, @bdameris says that PJ Washington’s jump shot is being “completely retooled” to help raise his 3-point percentage. Sounds like the Mavs organization wanted him to adjust his shot and we saw progress, especially in the OKC series.

Not sure how to feel about reworking a player’s jump shot this far into his career. Analytics have revolutionized the game though so who knows? He did bump his percentage up several points in the playoffs on higher volume.

  2. All I read is pj Washington is a 40% shooter from now on. I see a three peak in our future

Did they already make him change or is he changing it during the offseason

Now my son just needs to retool his ballhandling and we good to go.

HIs shot is probably the weirdest things I have ever witnessed in basketball. The form is beautiful, solid and has a good release but I never know if he will make it or miss it. And if he misses it, the misses are so weird, either bouncing randomly off the rim or just being oddly short/long on his shots.

I feel like when he got to Dallas they started the process of bettering his shot. PJ said he really focused on footwork and watching him play he started to hop into his shots off the catch, which I believe helped him. Even though his form looks really good and mostly smooth, there is still a some sort of stiffness on his release which I think they will figure out this off season.

PJ knows if he makes threes at 40% rate he will be a wealthy man if his extension talks come up.

  6. If we’re fixing peoples three point shot let’s fix Josh greens. Dudes whole upper body is shifted to the left when he shoots

His form is beautiful. Idk how he isn’t a 38% shooter

It’s almost as if the Mavs have a core who almost exclusively haven’t even entered their primes yet. But sure let’s throw away 2 or 3 of the youngest dudes and gamble the entire franchise on fucking Jerami Grant or Tobias Harris 🤷‍♂️

This is why we need to pull a DeAndre Jordan with Sean Sweeney so DET can’t even locate him lol
