Good, they get to save face when the Warriors move on. He ain’t coming back.

    >The Warriors still value Thompson’s contributions to their historic success, sources said, yet some in the organization do not view him as an essential part of their core group moving forward with the emergence of Jonathan Kuminga and Brandin Podziemski.

    >The Warriors, league sources said, have interest in Paul George and could explore other opportunities involving the contracts of Paul, Looney, and Payton this offseason. These three players will combine to make $47.1 million during the 2024-25 season, enough to pursue George’s $48.7 million contract in a hypothetical trade.

  3. He’s staying, and probably matching draymond’s contact.

  4. I mean it hasn’t just been behind the scenes either lol they’ve all been vocal to the press about it too. MDJ included. People just love to ignore these things when it doesn’t fit their preordained narrative or personal desires.

Steph in his media availability/exit interview right after the play-in:

    > “I could never see myself not with those two guys… we’ve experienced so much together. Again, I know at the end of the day, I know [Dray & Klay] want to win and I know I want to win. That’s all I’m worried about.”

Steve Kerr during his exit interview with the media after the play-in:

    > “We need Klay back,” Kerr said. “I know he had a tough night tonight, but what he represents for us, the spacing … Klay’s presence means so much to the spacing on the floor, to the flow of the offense. He’s still got good years left,” Kerr added. “And I know I speak for everybody in the (organization) — we want him back. What Klay has meant to this franchise, as good as he still is, we desperately want him back.”

Dunleavy on the desire to bring Klay back in his exit interview with the media in April:

    > “We want Klay back, first and foremost. I expressed that to him yesterday. Our players have expressed that, our coach, front office, ownership. Look, everybody wants Klay back. I think it’s a mutual feeling,” Dunleavy said. “The guy has been here a long time. He means so much to the organization. We really, really value him. So, there’s nothing that would make me think he wants to go somewhere else, or we don’t want him back. For that reason, I’m hopeful we can make it happen.”

Dray during his live post-Mavs/Celtics Finals show he did with Derek Fisher 9 days ago said:

    > “Mike’s doing a great job. It’ll be very important for us to try to get Klay back. I think that’s huge.”

Doesn’t matter what they think if Klays ego is getting in his own way.

Bro, just take the 2/48 mill already. We paid you like 80M to rehab for 2 and a half years.

Slater just said 25% chance Klay stays in his opinion because he’s not appreciating how the FO has handled this summer (as a secondary priority after they explore trades)

But I also have a hard time seeing Steph & Dray not having a strong convo with him if the money is all the same from another team in the end…will he really walk from being a rare 1 team player?? I really really hope not

I think everyone wants Klay to have a be contract…

Just not to pay him $25-30 million
