What We’re Hearing on a Donovan Mitchell Extension With the Cavaliers – Sports4CLE, 6/24/24

reports are that Cavs are getting close to that extension with Donovan Mitchell it can be a four-year extension that would give them five more years can go up to like 209 million um what are you hearing about that how many years do you think it will be and and how close are they yeah that’s just it it’s it’s exactly you know the numbers that you just listed four years 29 million just about um and I’m hearing that the last year of that could potten be a player option which would be so he’s signed through next season Donovan Mitchell and then the contract would go four years after that so that give the Cavs five more years of control uh when it comes to you know what to do with Donovan Mitchell their star player and if he signs that extension you’re going to presume he knows he’s here for another four years at maybe five that fifth year could potentially be a player option on that contract um but they’re close you know it’s not it’s not hard for for somebody to say here’s the maximum we can offer you we can’t offer you anything else and then him for you know for him to say well yes it doesn’t take long for that to H happen what they may be saying or dealing with now is kind of that player option whereas he’s probably saying look we want that player option the Cavs are probably saying yeah that’s fine let us get the language in there to make it official so I think that they’re going to be close and then it can become or they are close very close right now and then I think it will become official you know the very first minute of Canon early July which I guess is next week yeah yeah we’re we’re knocking on the door that heck the draft which we’re going to talk about in a little bit is uh Wednesday
