Kevin McHale’s thoughts about the Js

"And I thought Brown and Tatum finally got to the point of not playing the numbers, ‘I gotta get my numbers. I gotta do this. I gotta do that.’ They just played flow basketball. I was just so happy and proud of those guys.”

Love it, people don’t realize just how good Mchale was

Imagine this team with a healthy Ringus Kingus all post season. Next year could be even more fun.

Imagine if Jaylen was the new McHale. Just saw that they both had only 1 All-NBA team. Although McHale came off the bench for the first couple titles, following in the footsteps of Havlicek

Exactly! I’ve been hard on both of them over the years and in hindsight I wasn’t taking into account how young they were and I was just frustrated. Now they win a championship and everyone is ripping Tatum for not playing well. I thought he played great and just shot poorly. He did all the other things. He facilitated at an elite level, played great defense, rebounded.
He cared more about winning than listening to the noise from the outside about his inefficient scoring. Still played within himself. I’m proud of him and Jaylen. All those years of frustration and finally the promise land. They did it the right way.
