Big fucking gamble to tank a Finals game just to win the championship at home, thank Christ it worked out. I know we all looked on the brightside of them losing Game 4 because they got to win at home, but i’d rather win every game ever.
That’s crazy to admit but kudos for believing in themselves. They probably just knew how to beat the Mavs, they also gave KP a couple of more days to recoup to make that final game even better.
I don’t think he’s saying they tanked game 4 as much as they knew they weren’t going to lose game 5 after and figured KP could come back.
I don’t see any logical reason anyone tanks a finals game. We saw last year how easily one turned ankle can change everything. I took that more as them saying they were never nervous about game 5, much less the series.

We watched game 4. No way on this mass of rock, water, and trees would the Celtics lose game 5 after that shit. It was written in the stars.
Don’t think they tanked. I figured they’d win in 6 games because I knew Luka and Kyrie would go off in at least one game, and the Celtics would play bad in one game.
Looking back, it was a nice lucky break that we got the bad C’s game and the Luka game in the same one and were able to cash it out in 5 games.
