Answering the BIGGEST QUESTIONS heading into the 2024 NBA Draft πŸ€ | NBA Today

seven centers projected to go round in the latest mock draft from Jonathan gavone and Jeremy woo and Chen we’re just over 50 hours away from the Atlanta Hawks being on the clock deciding if they are going to go with big man while making the first selection so to dive in to All Things NBA draft let’s welcome in the gurum himself Jonathan gaboni is here Jonathan it feels like there’s only a few years ago small ball was all the rage and the traditional big man was getting phased out of the NBA so what’s in this draft class what’s changed where it seems like the center is the most coveted position Nicola yic Joel embiid and vikor WN banama if you want to beat those guys in the playoffs you better have some size in the paint every NBA teams are looking at this and they’re reverting back to these twin tower lineups that we haven’t seen in 10 15 20 years guys like Zack Edy like Donovan kingan these guys are have a really good chance to be top 10 picks 5 years ago that would not have been the case 25 years ago they may have gone number one and number two in the draft it feels like Jonathan there’s a lot of uncertainty about this draft maybe more than we’ve seen over the last decade I know I’m not the only one with questions so I do want to bring in the rest of our esteemed panel here I’m going to start with Tim because gavone is here to help Tim what’s your biggest question heading into the draft Yeah my biggest question is I’m looking at the Spurs I think that’s the most intriguing team looking at the top of the draft because of this incredible Talent they have in Victor wanyama they’ve got the four and the eight pick what are they looking to do I think they need a point guarders they one to be had with one of those picks that they think they could plug in and potentially play right away or what is their thinking with those two picks to pair with Victor Tim they have a perfect point guard sitting right there and Reed Shepard potentially with the fourth pick he has an elite feel for the game he is the best shooter in this draft he’s highly competitive he’s unselfish he’s 19 years old he’s ready to pair with Victor wi banama and be this pick and roll Duo of the future big question is he going to get there will Houston take him at three and so these are some of the mations that we’re looking at going into Wednesday speaking of staying in Texas and you mentioned uh my city at three I want to dive into that uh Jonathan because clearly you know this is an aspect number three that people have been sleeping on they have young Stars Jabari Smith Jr Jaylen green finished a year strong alpr shenon got a lot of respect they also have good vets and Fred Van B what could they do the Houston Rockets at that third spot well the moment that they got the number three pick that’s when the trade conversation started happening everybody knows that the Houston Rockets are in win now mode there are some big veterans out there that people anticipate could potentially be on the move this off season talking about guys like Brandon Ingram like Jimmy Butler like Marcus Smart potentially uh you know how aggressive are they going to be will a team like Memphis for example try and package the ninth pick and Marcus smartt and try and move up to the third pick for a guy like Donovan kingan the Houston Rockets have a ton of young guys that’s the last thing that they need NBA teams are penciling a trade here with the number three pick okay I know I’m in LA and I’m about to head to JJ redx press conference when we get done with the show what the Lakers do with their first round pick because we’ve been talking all year about the three first round picks that they can trade to go get an established star we’ve been talking about bronny James at 55 where are the Lakers now that they finally have their head coach well me and chenet are wearing the right colors I guess this question always in syn I I think that the Lakers need to take a patient approach for them to mortgage the farm here and trade three first rounders to go get you know like a Trey young or a dejonte Murray you know what does that really do for them does that make them Championship contenders I don’t think so I think the Lakers are thinking uh taking a Long View here five years down the road they need to be thinking the post LeBron era I’m not sure that I think that Championship window has closed personally Jonathan thank you so very much for your Insight leading up to the draft go take a nap because it’s probably the last day that you’re going to sleep at all we’re going to be seeing you all over our draft coverage all week long he [Music]

  1. Literally nobody cares about anyone in the top 54 of this draft lol lets just be honest

  2. This why all the old guys say they can play in todays game, everything will eventually come come around, and if you have dominant big men that control the game is a bigger and better bet than shooting 30 ft all game and being off .
    β€œStephs era” lasted what , 8-10 years?

  3. If im drafting for the Lakers im taking the Center out of Indiana with that 1st pick.

  4. Bcus there is nothing more to talk about. But don't get it twisted bcus I'm glad it ain't Bron the Lakers or CC or the race card being played. For once it's legit about sports although this year draft sucks

  5. I'm kind of waiting to see what the Magic do bcus I believe they should trade there pics and work the agency

  6. The Celtics just won championship and nobody worried about them πŸ˜‚ Teams are building the team with beating Jokic, Embiid, Giannis, Wemby in mind.

  7. ESPN is losing it When did all the sudden all these women become NBA specialists I'm sorry they're commentary just doesn't stand up I'm changing the channel

  8. Janae aint never been more beautiful than in this clip OMG she stole the show. I was like who tf is that squinting my eyes & ish.πŸ˜‚ wow, keep doing what cha doing πŸ‘ πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

  9. To think you can draft a guy in the NBA 2024 draft that will help wall up against jokic or Joel is ridiculous

  10. No matter what happens you can guarantee without doubt Lakers fan chorus…."WE WON THE OFF SEASON!!!!" on their way to yet another play-in…

  11. Boston Celtics select Bronny James Jr πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚

  12. teams have been beating Embiid in playoffs without an elite big for years πŸ€·β€β™‚

  13. Hornets should draft Donovan Clingan with the 6th. He rebounds as well as mark williams. He has a post game witch mark williams still doesn't have. He has a potential 3 point range jump shot, witch Also mark doesn't have. And most Underrated of all.. He Has the passing gift. Witch Mark will never have. I think he is the right pick for there future. Big man that can pass dont grow on trees… Pack up mark with Bridges and get some draft capital for the next few years. Hornets need a defensive identity….
