Twitter and I’m like all right let’s let’s see what’s going on on let’s see what the rumors are and right now it’s almost impossible to keep up with everything that’s coming out because the NBA draft is on what in what two days uh and the Paul George situation and will he opt into his contract will the Clippers offer him the money once will he request a trade will are the Sixers interested it just keeps going and going and going it’s so hard to keep up with um but but I’m here but I’m here and you’re here too and thank you for being here 192 people right now do me a favor before we get started interest from the 76ers has wanded and we were talking about that and producer you’re you’re not doing your job man you have you’re fired bro I don’t have a producer uh we talked about this last week and the fact that it was Shams that reported it you know you you you got to give it some Merit and this was the 76ers interest in pursuing Paul George has significantly waned in recent days and the franchise is expected to be aggressive elsewhere and then our boy Keith Pompei the greatest Philadelphia 76ers writer reporter in the history of the world decides you know what I’m going to go toe-to-toe with the big dogs and Keith goes on 97.5 The Fanatic after a Mike Scotto from Hoops height report comes out and says you know even though sham said the Sixers interest in Paul George is lessened uh they’re still very much interested and I I want to give you my thoughts on this whole debacle and why this is going on why I think this is going on but Keith goes on the radio and says I never really thought the Sixers were off uh the idea of signing Paul George at all I know that story came out but I never really felt like they were off so I think that ideally for the 76ers getting Paul George is still the number one target that’s the number one Domino so Keith pompe trying to go straight Celebrity Death Match one-on-one against sham Shania I respect the confidence no I’m joking I think I think Keith has a point here uh but it’s kind of an obvious point when you break it down okay of course the Sixers are interested in Paul George we already know that they’re they’re not no longer interested in Paul George clearly something happened between this Shams report and what they’re saying now and what happened was what I think personally is Paul George don’t want to come to Philly straight up facts straight up facts this is what’s happening right now Paul George does not want to come to Philly the Sixers were a major part of this discussion because to sign Paul George outright there’s only a few teams that could possibly do it that unfortunately for Daryl mury and anybody else that was hoping for a third star that’s a fact the only reason the Sixers name was in there is because they have the cap space to make it happen he could have waved a player option and signed a straight up 4-year $212 million contract outright with the Philadelphia 76ers I think Paul George doesn’t want to come to Philly and I think he started having talks with the Clippers about a possible signing trade the Sixers got wind of that and they were like all right we’re good you know we’ll sign you outright but we’re not putting also putting assets on the table and so I think that’s why the Shams report came out and then they you know they kind of also wanted to go out there and be like but let them know we’re still very much in we’re still very much interested uh we’re probably just not going to throw extra draft picks and things on the table if he decides he wants to leave LA and wants the four-year Max contract we will give it to him I think that’s what the Sixers are saying through Pompei or whoever else and yeah we’re still interested in Paul George we just are going to take a step back if you’re going to be talking about you know all these potential things and and things like that so that’s what’s going on with the Shams with the Keith Pompei with the Sixers being interested not interested for anybody wondering you know somebody one of my good friends just hit me up on Instagram DM and was like what are you talking about I thought the Sixers were out and that he can get his money that he wants and not travel across the country away from his hometown away from the comfort of living in La doing a podcast in LA and end up in Philadelphia the way that he can avoid that and I know this is me talking negatively about Philadelphia but it’s really like do these big time multi-millionaire guys from La who who have successful podcast and are and are are are one foot out the door as far as possible you know retiring in the next couple of years guys like Paul George LeBron James do they want to play in Philadelphia Pennsylvania sadly Philadelphia Pennsylvania is not a destination it’s not somewhere people are like I really want to go there there if they only cared about the sport and the fan base and how much they would be loved for their hard work and things like that then yeah Philadelphia is the spot but as far as I mean you can look out your high-rise condo window and see a beach or you can look out your high-rise condo window and see another high-rise condo and you know a city concrete jungle whatever you want to call it Philadelphia is not a destination I really think Paul George does not want to come to Philly and I think that’s very possible uh the annoying thing about the Paul George situation now is that this thing could last a long time you know Brian windhorse is saying that he could be traded this weekend but don’t forget if Paul George is going to possibly opt in to a player option and request a trade this could last all off seon that’s the annoying part about it you know we might not actually see a resolution anytime soon but anyway here is the uh rumors about the Paul George possible signing trait versus just signing flat outright if Paul George wanted to play for the Philadelphia 76ers if he wanted to be alongside Joel and beating Tyrese Maxi and it was just all about the money and he wanted the most money possible he could straight up sign with the Sixers outright the fact that this is even a rumor tells me that he does not want to come to Philly there is a growing feeling lead guad the 34 year-old picking up his $ 48.8 million player option for next season to force the Clippers to trade him is an increasingly realistic scenario after months of fruitless contract extension negotiation between the parties the Clippers appear unwilling to offer a richer deal to George than kawh Leonard who received 150 million for three seasons now so a lot of comments on Instagram and Twitter of people that don’t quite know know why a sign and trade would happen in the NBA or why sign and trades happen in general I remember a specific content creator years ago not going to say his name who didn’t know what a sign and trade was and was on YouTube saying why would I sign you and then trade you that’s stupid and then the Sixers signed and traded Jimmy Butler here’s the reason for a sign and trade the player well first of all the team we’re going to lose you for nothing if you sign outright somewhere else we definitely don’t want that to happen but you as a player you don’t owe us anything you don’t have to you don’t have to do a sign and trade for us right a lot I mean a lot of times like the Kyle Lowry Toronto situation a lot of times it’s where a player loves a city loves a franchise feels like he at least owes them something in return hey let’s do a sign and trade where that way I’m not walking out the door you’re getting nothing uh but I’m not coming back you know so you got to do this to at least get something in return the reason the player really wants to do it is because he can now choose his destination and it doesn’t have to just be a team that has Max cap space there’s only a couple teams that have the cap space to sign Paul George out right the Sixers are one of them he doesn’t want to come to Philly so he’s saying I can sign and trade and then they can trade me to my preferred destination that’s why a signning trade happens then that way a team te that doesn’t have the cap space can offer up some filler contracts and other things like that to get that player uh under the cap and end up with that player on their on their team so that’s why a sign of trade happens and and that’s why Paul George is possibly interested in opting into the $ 48.8 million player option and requesting that the Clippers trade him because that way he can basically choose where he wants to go let’s listen to the uh little clip from Brian windhorse here um about the whole situation and see what we can take from this is Paul George the guy though is this the most important domino in free agency well let’s remember that Paul George has three options one is to resign with the Clippers two is to enter free agency and go somewhere else like Philly or Orlando three he that’s your choice is that Philly or Orlando like realistically that’s his choices he’s like [ __ ] that dude I’m opting in we trade I’m not going to Philly or Orlando I think that’s what he’s thinking seriously can opt into his contract and get traded by this weekend that is something that is going to come to a head in the next day or two if he wants to go with that option because obviously you’d have to negotiate a trade and then the team wouldn’t necessarily need salary cap space so the Paul George sweep Stakes is going to come to a head at least that aspect of it faster than those other players who are going to be free agents like Clay Thompson or Demar de R Roan so Paul George has a different menu of options and we’re going to see some action in that probably coming up you know very quickly after the draft well whatever it is we know that Paul George is a championship caliber player who hasn’t shown up in the playoffs like some of the greats that we’ve seen and we’ve seen that in Philly more than once so it will be interesting to see where [Laughter] he good take Ryan Clark good take we’ve seen that in Philly more than once uh Wendy said something there that I wanted to respond to I forget cap space so the Paul George sweep Stakes is going to oh yeah he’s making it sound like if Paul George opts in he’ll be traded this weekend that doesn’t necessarily have to happen right can y’all correct me in the chat if I’m wrong about this uh because couldn’t he opt in request a sign and trade and that [ __ ] could take all summer like the Sixers trading James Harden last summer or the Sixers sitting around and wait until the season started to trade Ben Simmons two three years ago like couldn’t they couldn’t he opt in and say I want to trade I want to uh uh sign and trade and they’re like all right we’re cool with that give us some time to get the best deal and then it takes two and a half months you know what I’m saying and then you’re sitting here until the damn end of September and the season starts and then they make a trade and the James Harden thing only happened because the owners got on the phone and put an end to it um oh here we go somebody’s got me Cammy there’s a 60-day period where if you sign someone you can’t trade them does that count for player options I guess not if Brian windhorse is saying that they could sign and trade him this weekend uh then I guess that doesn’t apply to that uh when he says that himself when he says that himself will believe it the other team that everyone is talking about with pg3 got cap now look now it’s getting interesting for Paul George right the Warriors odds land Paul George on DK Sportsbook dropped from 3,000 to 600 overnight when the reports about him possibly requesting a signing trade came out so the Warriors suddenly jump into the conversation at a plus 600 the Thunder this is on DraftKings and you know it forever continues to be uh a little bit wishy-washy for me with these Sports books putting out now news articles because you start to get to the point is this legal you know what I mean is it legal for sports books to start telling people hey this is looking those are perfect fits but I’ll take take those over a Paul George sign and trade please do not do that there was also a report uh recently that the Sixers are no longer interested in Zack LaVine happens either the Sixers are really running out of options man you look at Brandon Ingram not a perfect fit but if the price is right do it take a swing at it at the end of the day he’s a better million um there is reports that the Sixers will be willing to go 35 million for OG and Obi there is also reports that the Sixers would not be willing to give him a Max contract if he’s looking for just the most money maybe a team offers him a Max his injury situation is definitely what’s keeping teams away from giving him a Max contract contct if o an anobi did not have an injury problem he would be a Max contract guy and not a Max contract Superstar but the way that he plays the game what he brings to the game his defense of ability his plug-and-play offense can dribble pass and shoot can finish at The Rim he’s such a highlevel utility guy he’s a Max contract player outside of his stat sheet his stat she will never show his impact on the game Drew holiday type of situation his stat sheet will never show his impact on the game but his impact on the game is massive if he was if he was regularly healthy and didn’t have an injury every 3 weeks he would be a Max contract player but he’s not I don’t want the Sixers to do this I don’t think at all because he’s going to be hurt and you’re going to have embiid and ogan adobi both playing about 40 games this season I mean the guy played for the Knicks and got hurt three times in two months and and when it mattered the most in the playoffs the guy couldn’t run he couldn’t run down the floor so I’m stay away from ogan anobi also but what do I even want them to do then I don’t want them to sign Paul George I don’t want them to sign and trade for Paul George I don’t want him to sign OG and anobi I don’t think Brandon Ingram’s a perfect fit I don’t think demard de R Roan’s a perfect fit I think Zack lavine’s overpaid I don’t know man maybe tomorrow I’ll put out a video of like what I think the Sixers should actually do maybe I’ll do that but it all basically sounds terrible right now you don’t want anybody I guess not that’s what I just came to a realization of I don’t know man but I do know that you guys are awesome
