Both predict Brandon Ingram, probably for the 16th pick and then one more (likely the Clippers pick). Rationale is that they haven't heard much about Ingram from their sources which makes them think there may be something there. Paul George seems like a dead idea – mentioned Knicks, Warriors, and even Kings.
Neubeck also said he heard Butler wants to stay in Miami – he is just trying to get a new deal.
Also think KCP is a strong possibility with remaining money. Bodner that Naji Marshall could be a target. Neubeck thinks Batum will return but will need more than people think contract-wise ($7-10 mill).

I hope so. I think people need to get over the “fit” thing with the 3 point shooting, he’s a great fit in other ways for this team. In particular he’s a great passer and can get his own bucket. We saw how much Batum helped, Ingram would help even more.
If we run this team back and upgrade from Tobi and then add another guy on top that’s a team I believe in.
Maxey – KCP – Ingram – Batum – Joel
Kelly, Reed, Lowry, Payne, Melt, whoever on the bench would be amazing.
That would be massively disappointing. His fit is terrible. He is not a high level three point shooter, and does not take many. From that perspective he’s essentially just Tobias.
Would probably be a defensive upgrade and a better playmaker and slightly better overall scorer. But all in all a wholly disappointing use of cap space even if it is less than the max. Would MUCH rather have PG or someone else who is actually a great player.
People will downplay the shooting but we will see some of the exact same problems we have when Harris was here. If we have to trade assets then I’d rather get the better player even if he is older.
Paying Batum that much would be almost as dumb as the PJ Tucker deal. Naji is also a replacement-level type player.
Ingram + KCP 👀🙌
16 and the majestic 2028 pick is too much for rich man’s Tobias
Him expiring is good and bad.
If the fit and his play-style really is that terrible we can let him walk.
But if he fits great we are going to be forced to give him a max or near max.
Bodner is so bad, Kyle is ok.
This kind of aligns with reports coming out that BI is most likely gonna be moved by the start of free agency or the draft, the Pels are notorious for wanting to avoid the luxury tax and giving them draft picks would allow them to stay young and relatively cheap but also in the realm of Zion’s time frame (although that is a completely different problem in itself)
Ingram is definitely preferable over Jimmy and PG simply due to age. I’d feel way more comfortable giving him a contract than those other 2, and he’s a surprisingly solid distributor as well. Really there’s no home run perfect deal this offseason (of course) but this would be the best of the options imo
I’ve always been intrigued by Ingram. That said, his game log is kinda wild: [https://www.espn.com/nba/player/gamelog/_/id/3913176/brandon-ingram](https://www.espn.com/nba/player/gamelog/_/id/3913176/brandon-ingram)
On a month-by-month dude oscillated between 40, 35, and 31% from 3. Same is true for his ppg- 16, 22, 17, 24. With two scorers ahead of him, he might struggle to find his groove here. Wouldn’t be surprised if he looked a lot like Tobias out there, to be honest. Also, how the hell is he 6’8 and only 190?!
If we keep Batum with cap space, then we gotta use the room exception on a PF. I’m tired of being an ass rebounding team
I can talk myself into BI. He’s got a lot of upside, but we’ll see how hard he attacks the opportunity, how willing he is to be coached. He’s never been my favorite player from a body language or attitude perspective.
Can’t believe we are here, and I’ll be rooting for Howard Eskin’s Ingram >>> Simmons pre-draft takes to be vindicated.
The logic of not hearing about something making it more likely generally doesn’t workout.
For instance, no one ever heard about the possibility of me dating Marisa Tomei. And yet it still doesn’t happen.
I’ll take this opportunity to point out that Lauri to the Sixers and Mikal to the Sixers rumors are just as quiet as Ingram to the Sixers. So maybe we end up with all three of them.
Swapping James Harden for Brandon Ingram a year later is just a brutal fumbling of assets.
Honestly, Ingram+KCP+Naji isn’t bad.
Although to be fair I’m really doing my best to sell myself on Ingram. I mean if he’s traded here we have to root for him lol.
If our big 3 next year is Maxey, Embiid ,and Ingram, we’re not winning a round again
