Either this says Pop was really interested in Dilly or Pop is just that dude who talks to literally every prospect (probably the latter). Still wouldn’t be mad at Dillingham at #8. just would have to draft a great defender at #4 though to balance the team out.

Pop has publicly stated he’s not really a part of the Spurs drafting decisions. I don’t put much stock in this.

I’d love him as the #8 pick. Quick guard that can create plays off the bounce with his quickness. I hate his size though as he’d be a liability on the pick and roll and any switches. Lot of bump and recover coverages.

I know he’s not everyone’s favorite but given the rumors about how much he wants to be here I’m gonna be sad if we don’t pick him up

The fact that’s he’s so upfront about his love for the spurs and wanting to play under pop makes me really want us to draft him

maybe we can get him with a late first if he drops based on this. Same goes for others we might like in the 20s.
I was listening to a podcast that with the current CBA, second apron teams are looking for seconds where they can pay rookie minimum vs a fixed 1st round price and draft multiple ready now(college seniors) role player. So two seconds for a late first from a second apron team is very possible if we see someone we really like in the 20s.
