The Celtics biggest challenge is going to be psychological. It’ll be tough to conjure up a sense of urgency when they have a bad spell of games in early January. It’ll be hard to get the same level of daily buy-in in the first half of the season. You have to be weary of falling into the “we’ll just turn it on” trap. It’s going to fall on Joe to get these guys to buy back in.
This, I think, was Bill Belichick’s greatest attribute as a coach. He would never allow looking back. He would never even entertain a question on last year’s team once training camp started. The 2023-24 Celtics were champions. The 2024-25 Celtics haven’t won jack shit. It’s an easy thing to say, and it’ll be on Joe to foster the atmosphere where the team buys into it.

i have faith in Joe, i mean he did what several previous coaches did not. and he did it consistently for an entire season.

The Celtics need depth, not even playoff depth, just regular season depth to eat up minutes. This year’s team will next year’s playoff team, full stop. I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t end up the 1 seed in East because they are trading wins for health.

I think they’re going to sign a rookie big.someone like Flipowski. Saw him going 31st in a mock draft. There is a few other guys that are very similar maybe even better

My biggest concern is jrue and Tatum playing in the Olympics.
Also brown going to come out and win season MVP for not getting chosen to be on the Olympic team.

No complacency a la Pat Riley, though please. A constant search for upgrades doesn’t have to mean shipping out any of the major pieces. Minor pieces can also be adjusted. Though idk who I would replace. I’d love to see Walsh get more minutes.
