What Moves Should the Hawks Make?
[Music] for the first time ever the Atlanta Hawks have the first overall pick in the NBA draft and this offseason will be the most important offseason in Hawks franchise history so for some context ever since the Atlanta Hawks made the Conference Finals back in 2021 they have been on a downward spiral with the front office not capitalizing on that momentum and they’ve now become a playin team or either eight- seated playoff team for like the last 3 years it’s also been clear during that time span that the Duel of Trey young and dejon Murray hasn’t worked out like the hot thought it would leading many including me to believe that Alena should look to get rid of one or the other and I don’t think anyone would argue that Trey young is a better player than deante Murray and that the hawk ceiling is much better with Trey young running the show and while there’s no doubt that deante Murray is a really really good player and even he has a lot more defensive upside than Trey but the Hawks are limited with deante as their best player so with the NBA draft being this Wednesday it remains to be seen what moves the Hawks will make whether it’s keep Trey and trade de jante or vice versa or whether it’s trade the number one pick for a star or whether it’s time to hit the reset button and Go full rebuild now to me this is my opinion I think the Hawk’s best case scenario would be to hope that either this number one pick or Jaylen Johnson makes a big leap and becomes a big star alongside Trey [Music] [Music]
