[Sidery] The Lakers plan to keep the No. 17 overall pick instead of trade it, per @wojespn. Some prospects within the mid-first could potentially crack Los Angeles’ rotation next season.

  1. Damn, does this mean we are not trying to win now?

Well that’s a wrap on next season already then.

Go play somewhere they actually wanna win, LeBron.

  3. Benotheking

Shocker! I think after JJ coach introduction, it was clear that they will keep the pick.

Time to draft another 19 year old that can’t crack the rotation 🔥

  5. Because the trades that the Lakers are likely inquiring requires us to overpay.

  6. They’re trying to do the two timeline shit that the Warriors failed to do.

  7. How are we getting this…BEFORE the draft?! Jesus man what is happening

They have to say that if the deal includes DLo because he has not opted in. It’s not over yet

I rather draft something rather than overpays. If we have trade like bulls-okc, i will do it

completely fine with this, please lock Rob out of the drafting room and let the scouts do their jobs

Very excited to see who we get, several really promising prospects around 17

So basically we’re running it back and hoping to make the play-in tournament again?

I’ll believe it when it happens..if it does, Rob NEEDS to nail this draft.

#17 might already be better than JHS

Perhaps they will actually draft someone that can help instead of someone because they like freaking Kobe

The team needs more youth on affordable salaries. So this is good. They might even consider trying to squeeze some draft picks out of other teams in a trade for anyone on the team they think is paid more than they’re worth.

As long as it’s not another JHS and more like a Jacques Jr.

  18. Guys we need a two way 3 and D players. Those are fucking expensive. If they don’t have a hail mary trade lined up for a clear third star (not fucking westbrook), I’m down to just keep getting core contributers. We can try to go for a Jaime Jaquez kind of player or someone like Desmond Bane. Let’s just not go for another raw player though because we already have JHS

A lot of promising candidates. The center prospects for this draft class is super promising. There’s no way you can’t address one of our needs with this pick.
