[Scotto] … the Brooklyn Nets have chosen to pivot towards a rebuild, and other veterans, including Cam Johnson, Dorian Finney-Smith, Bojan Bogdanovic, Dennis Schroder, Ben Simmons, and backup center Day’Ron Sharpe, are all potential trade candidates to monitor, league sources told HoopsHype.



The Pelicans have several admirers of Claxton in their front office and are among the teams around the league wondering if the 25-year-old center could become available via a sign-and-trade, given Brooklyn’s rebuilding direction.

Claxton is expected to command $20-25 million annually in free agency.

    We should be trading DFS, Bojan and Schroeder ASAP.

    But Claxton should be signed to a extension that progressively drops like CJ. We can then turn around and trade them in a year or two when the cap goes up and they have more value.

    (Plus I’m absolutely obsessed with the Clowney/Claxton frontcourt and want to give it a season)

    Why would Sharpe be a trade candidate? He’s only 22 and has shown plenty of improvement and promise of last season alone. He’s perfect to be part of the rebuild

    If anything Clax should be the one that the nets are trying to ship out
