  1. Gonna need someone who knows the draft to explain our utmost desire to always want guards

  2. C1ncinnatiBowtie

I just don’t see the current need on this roster for a player like Walter. Especially when there’s several quality bigs that *should* be available at 17.

  3. kavanaheav

Another guard… seems on brand lol. Would make 2 guards this draft as well if they draft Bronny tomorrow.

  4. LongTimesGoodTimes

Reporters love draft week because they can just throw reports out without a care in the world

As a Laker fan, I’d love to see them grab a big. As a Providence season ticket holder, Carter is a DAWG. Came in to the season widely thought of as their 2nd best player to UK transfer Bryce Hopkins but when Hopkins went down with a torn ACL Carter absolutely took over. A do-everything guard. Sites call him a PG because of his height but he’s not that. He’s more Smart/Bradley with a giant wingspan.

  6. CabbageStockExchange

Rob loves his guards doesn’t he? Tbh Carter seems legit but he’s gone by our pick

  7. rybeegood

I’m always for Drafting BPA but we need to start prioritizing bigs

  8. No-Test6484

We already have jhs, why we drafting another guard?

  9. something tells me that the Lakers have a trade in mind for a big and the other team may want a young guard in return.

  10. I know we’re all tired of targeting guards on draft but Carter is definitely worth it. Of all the guards in the draft he’s the one that the Lakers need the most. Don’t really like Walter would rather have Da Silva.

From JJs presser to the rumored guards they targeting.. Dlo must be gone. Hopefully via a sign and trade

  12. We have enough guards can we at least consider a Big Man for once like WTF 🤦🏾‍♂️

Carter is a great prospect. Sure he’s an inch shorter than Derick White per their combines – but Carter plays really big, averaged 9rbs, is one of the best defenders in the draft, tremendous athlete, can create and shoot.. (he’ll create less in the NBA but was Providence’s star on-ball creator last year) . He can basically be a more talented Bruce Brown

Walter is pretty raw, he’s not short, almost 6’6 in shoes hair taller than Josh Hart – but his defense has a long ways to go, he got hunted and blown by a lot last year. He might be a really really good shooter in the NBA, he shoots off of movement well. Has some 2nd side, SG creation in him that will develop as well too.

Bro no more guards, we need a center or a wing

  15. sleepwalker1-

Need a big. if its not tonight in this draft then it has to be in FA

  16. RDSubmission

Yay! More guards! Who needs bigs anyway?! (Dies inside)

  17. thehanssassin

Well looks like we trading DLo and JHS. Might want to buckle up for Center in FA as well if we are not getting a Center in the draft.

  18. The Lakers could also finally present their expensive invention of recreating prime Wilt Chamberlain to pair alongside Anthony Davis.

  19. Scorpionrah

Ok I truly don’t believe this at all. Considering how the lakers been operating this off season I think they’re either a making a big trade nobody knows about or truly standing pat

  20. BadBoujjee

Devin Carter shot 38% on 7 threes a game in college, draft that man

  21. outsidehere

I know that this is mostly a clickbait article but in full honesty, could we not select another guard?

  22. RiversofJell0

Carter isn’t great at creating or navigating double teams or pressure defense so I’m a little worried about that. Everything else I’m a big fan of

  23. Dj3garrett

I like Kele Ware or Dasilva. If the Lakers take a guard in the first they’ve given up on JHS. Wasted pick. Juaquez was right there for the taking and he played college ball in LA. Smh

  24. Odd-Direction9452

Not a fan of Walter unless we really entering a rebuild like Pelinka wants lol

  25. JayRod24_

Wouldn’t mind it for Carter but a hell no for Walter.

  26. justredditting1010

If the my stay put Terrence Shannon is a rising name that offers a lot!

  27. Lakers usually do well drafting undrafted players

  28. RedeemedShank

lol at grabbing another undersized, unathletic guard.

Just what this team needed, instead of you know…A CENTER?!

  29. lolxddavid

Carter yes Walter ehhhh. You probably don’t need to trade up for Walter

  30. PhantomPain85

But if we draft a big that is a project and needs to be in the G league for years before potentially making a difference (ala Castleton), then I’d rather draft a guard that can contribute now

  31. fitzy50000

Been hearing lots of talk how Devin Carter has been killing it in the workouts and destroying people in scrimmages like Jaquez last year. Honestly think it would be an elite pick for an immediate difference maker

  32. GutsTheSwordsman

So Lakers are gonna move up the draft to pick a guard, and then pick Bronny another guard at 55 (or lose the pick in the trade/have a pick in the mid 40s where taking Bronny is bad).

Lakers at some point need to draft wings/bigs tbh. Also this fucks over Schifino development (but if he is a bust who cares, not if
    Lakers pick Ja’Kobe tho)

  33. LudwigNasche

Good training. We have been drafting guards for a good portion of the last decade and still couldn’t find a decent “PG of the future”, so it makes sense drafting another guard until we learn to do it right.

“Some rival executives believe” should be banned as a source lmao
