Is it Durant or Booker? Stephen A. says the Suns don’t need BOTH of them! 👀 | First Take

Rockets are trying to land a heavyweight Houston has stock file picks after a deal with Brooklyn last night and is interested in potentially trading for one of the sun Stars here’s further context from wo the implications of the Rockets Landing the Suns picks Houston wants to trade for Kevin Durant and that becomes far easier if they can return the Suns picks that they gave up in the Durant deal to the net suns have said they’re keeping Durant for now but that could change next season but now Houston has the picks to make the Sons hole again okay Stephen A do you feel like they should trade either KD or book do you think that’s the right move for Phoenix I definitely think it’s the right move for Phoenix because either one is going to give you tremendous Assets in return and what you have as a backdrop Bob and doggy is a Phoenix Sun Squad with their big three that got swept in the first round and it wasn’t like they got swept in the first round by the reigning defending Champions that were the Denver Nuggets at time an experienced Bunch no you got swept by a team on a come up that ain’t going anywhere in the Minnesota Timberwolves led by Anthony Edwards the Ant-Man himself and so because of that I think that’s all you need to see in order to move in a different direction if you’re the Phoenix Suns I know they hired Mike buen hoser who’s a champion they hired him for the longterm plan I mean they didn’t want Frank vogle they settled for Frank vogle and obviously the ownership came in play when Monty Williams was already there so he was never their guy this guy Mike benen hoser is their guy and so I think when you look at it from that perspective and you’re thinking long range you keep one of them you’re going to have one of them with Bill you’re going to the bottom line is whether it’s Durant or Booker you don’t need both of them and if you can get an abundance of assets for them I think that’s something that you do now Bob just to regurgitate what I had said earlier certainly not to refute anything that wge has to say our teammate knows what the hell he’s doing keeps breaking story after story after Story no matter what anybody says he’s the one breaking the stories so let’s understand that about wge but what I’m hearing from from from Phoenix is that Kevin Durant might want out I’m hearing that Phoenix is is well aware of that they may want him out but there’s some dissension in Houston in this regard of course an emay Oka Royal Avy guys like that might want them but collectively as an organization there’s questions as to whether or not Booker should be somebody that they target as opposed to dur rant because they know their squad ain’t ready yet so even if dur rant came there how much is that really really going to give you he’s over 35 years of age got a couple of years left on this deal how far do you expect to go with Kevin Durant surrounded by that Squad Brooker would be more longterm that’s the only hiccup as it pertains to making the decision in that regard but I think to answer the question definitely you trade one of them because one of them are is going to get you at least a couple of additional first round picks and possibly a really nice player to go along with that you do that if you’re the Phoenix Suns because you’re not thinking about just now you’re thinking about the future hey Mad Dog you want you want you want all right well I’ll take it here okay all right go ahead y well number one I don’t think that owner is going to do this now that owner now you can make a big deal about Monty Williams he wasn’t his guy Monty Williams are not the get deserve to be fired because they got killed in game seven and they got booed off the court plus he gave $31 million to vog so if you’re telling me he’s going to settle for vocal they gave him 30 million for crying out loud then they turn around and they bring boser in there and they give him 50 million and be the head coach now they’re going to break up the team I’d be shocked I don’t trust that owner that owner has not shown me you know we got into the fight with joic there a couple years ago I don’t trust him whatsoever and although I do agree with Steve I think he made an excellent point you can make an argument that they’re better off of getting Duran out of there he’s 36 years of age probably that team is not going to win a championship about president constituted so get some collateral get some pieces I’ll buy that I think that’s a very fair point Bobby but I don’t think and you know owner is better than I do I he’s a young guy got a fortune nobody knows who he is now he’s got a team it’s his play thing I would be shocked if he gets rid of Durant and sits there with 40 wins for the next five years I would be very very surprised he’s going to make a run at the championship Bob I I I would say look to to all of this lot lot going on here but not yet would be my easy answer my quick answer because buen hoser did come in they blame Frank vogle right or wrong that’s the decision they made organizationally they fired their coach they didn’t they didn’t trade any players they didn’t blame any players they fired their coach by the way that seems to be the quickest and easiest button to push in the modern NBA team doesn’t do well let’s fire the coach whether it’s the coach’s fault or not I always looked at it like when the team didn’t succeed it was all of our faults it’s the GM it’s the owner it’s the players and yes in some situations the coach but the coach is the easiest thing guys to change out it’s just hey you call him in the office we got to move on it’s much harder to move on from players but I will say this putting all that money into Mike buher is an indication for MTB and that ownership group and front office in James Jones we thought the coach was the problem okay whatever we think is one thing but that’s what they think the coach is the problem so they’re going to go forward now with this team and I would say this guys yes the Suns disappointed last year I thought the Suns would do a lot better in the postseason than they did and in the regular season but they didn’t do well they didn’t do well in the fourth quarter at all they looked disjointed most of the year but look at what Dallas remember Dallas a year ago they didn’t make the playoffs they didn’t make the play in they didn’t make anything and they went to the then they went to the NBA finals so I will in an argument to keep these guys together sometimes it takes more time than people think Booker Durant Beal have still not played a full season together Mike buher has shown he’s got a system that he believes in can he get these guys to play together and succeed now the question is going to be can they get a better deal now if I’m a GM of that team or own in ownership You’ say what are we forgoing by not doing a deal now I imagine Houston has made an offer I don’t know this I’m just guessing if they want Durant now they’re going to want them later and they want Booker now of course a lot of people want both these guys but what’s the price so Houston sitting there probably threw out an offer Phoenix probably rejected it and now Phoenix is saying let’s see how the season goes right let’s not wait a whole season if Phoenix is 12 and 15 with 27 games in the season that’s a problem I love [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] is

  1. They could keep both if they had a competent point guard. Bringing in Beal was a big mistake.

  2. Minnesota wasn't going anywhere??? Stephen A stay off the weed lmao because you were picking the wolves as title favorites when they went up on Denver

  3. Bob is the only one making sense. The trades make ZERO sense to do right now. And Book ain’t going anywhere

  4. I'm grateful for the opportunity to connect with and learn from such intelligent and insightful women. It's a privilege to be part of this community.🔥

  5. I'm proud of Phoenix, of what they did this year,They made the playoffs and kept every game close to the End,this coming season the rest of the league better watch out.

  6. If you trade one … you trade both … and tank … deal with Beal … in 3 years he’ll be out of league and that’s a ton of picks

  7. Are the Suns in an obvious position to compete for a title? No.
Therefore, expect KD to accept or ask for a trade. Bec he doesn't play for teams that aren't already in a win now situation.
    It's really that easy.

  8. The beal trade should have been a 3 team for a pg and a bench. Clearly the gm doesnt know how to build a roster 😂

  9. The suns likely wouldn't trade away their franchise talent in devin booker to keep kd who'd likely leave by force the same season after devin book would be traded out. Booker going down with his ship before anyone else

  10. if houston wants to add a player than why not ask for bradley beal then? phoenix needs to find a way to trade beal. hes a good shooter and playmaker. trade him for a couple of serviceable bigs on smaller deals that you could move later on if not helpful. Phoenix fucked up getting him when they didnt need him.
