THE PACERS ARE LOOKING FOR ANOTHER PIECE AFTER THE MIKAL BRIDGES TRADE!

hey guys what is up it is the fast break report here bringing you guys another Vlog I know I made the video earlier today about um Mel Bridges but we need to talk about how this changes everything for the Indiana Pacers because uh the Mikel Bridges trade kind of forces the Indiana Pacers hand a little bit to make another move this free agency and uh apparently according to Brian windhorse uh after the Mel Bridges trade the Pacers are now in the marketplace they’re they’re looking to add a third guy um and honestly this video there’s going to be Pacers fans who don’t like this video and that’s that’s perfectly fine but I’m just telling you what’s what’s going on um after the Mel Bridges trade last night the East is stacked again um I know that sounds a little crazy like how can one trade just magically change the Eastern Conference um but after what happened in the playoffs all right there’s a couple things we need to understand and one of them is as impressive as it was to make the Eastern Conference Finals we we had some luck along the way and that’s going to happen every year that happens you know it happened to Miami and now it happened to us um but I feel like people are putting a little bit too much stock into the Eastern Conference Finals appearance and what I mean by that is I think because we made it there people think we’re a little bit better than we actually are and uh people want to run it back with the exact same roster and that’s not a bad thing you know what I’m saying like even if you do run it back with the same roster you’re you’re a Bonafide playoff team that that’s that’s a given okay the problem is you’re not a championship team and when you look around the Eastern Conference at this point boys it it’s starting to get like shit’s getting thick real quick okay like Boston is is loaded we we know that right Boston is loaded head to toe now the Knicks they are they make the trade for Mel Bridges suddenly they’re legitimized right like now all of a sudden it’s like they they got a Nova four now before we before we thought it was just the Nova 3 now it’s the Nova four um Mikel Bridges and Josh Hart and I believe Jaylen Brunson went won two national championships together they know how to play with each other this is going to be basically a seamless fit so now okay it used to be like you could maybe rely a little bit on the OG anobi injury bug and stuff like that no Mel Bridges plays dog like he’s a guy that’s he’s locked down he he can score and when you look around the other teams right Miami when healthy is is arguably a better team than us um you look at uh Philly we still have yet to see what they’re going to do Orlando is still on the board to do something the Bucks are going to come back healthy right like so it’s like even with just those four or five teams right right like yeah or orl even Orlando like they don’t have star Talent really but they they play defense very very well and we don’t okay so the the Mel Bridges trade like changes everything because now you’re looking at the Knicks as potentially the second best team in the Eastern Conference um and Miami saw has Tyler hero they have Jimmy Butler they have bam atabo right you look at the Bucks the Bucks have uh Giannis they have Damen Lillard they have Chris Middleton uh you know like every team pretty much has three guys you know what I’m saying even though the CBA is or the new CBA is punishing the out of these teams for it if you want to be competitive you need a third guy so on the Pat McAfee show today Brian Windor was on there saying like the Pacers like after the Mel Bridges trade last night like the Pacers are now motivated to try and get themselves a third piece so the thing is a lot of you might be asking how is that even possible like how can the Pacers uh go after a Demar d rozan a Tobias Harris a Klay Thompson uh someone like that right well there is one thing the Pacers can do to free up $40 million in cap space and that thing they can do is renounce their rights to uh OB toppen and renounce their rights to uh Doug mcdermit it would free up about $40 million in cap space um we’re $10 million under the uh you know over the cap at the minute or under the tax um so we would have essentially like if if we have if we’re going to have $40 million by getting rid of them make it 30 because of the the the minus $10 million right $30 million is still a lot of bread man it’s it’s still enough to get you a third piece and I’ve been thinking about it and I don’t care what people think about this I really don’t I I personally uh I like it and I’m going to tell you what it is I I don’t know if it puts us over the top but he’s a very good player I know people are talking about OG anobi OG anobi is a maybe uh like at best um Paul George is most likely going to be a sign in trade uh Klay Thompson is a guy who who is is going to go wherever he can get the money um and so really you’re left with d rozan Tobias Harris and Miles Bridges um as far as like guys you can sign in free agency um yeah you could trade for Brandon Ingram but don’t even know what a Brandon Ingram trade looks like at the moment um but preferably the the Pacers would like somebody who plays defense and really out of all those guys that I mentioned the only two are like d rozan who kind of plays defense like he’s not what he used to be but he’s still 34 he’s one of the best clutch Shooters in the game but his mid-range uh game could maybe get in the way of Pascal zakum I don’t know that to be true um but the thing is also U miles Bridges is an unrestricted free agent and and Miles Bridges uh is uh left-handed he’s young he can score 20 points a game and he plays defense uh he’s very good on both ends of the floor so I figure right uh if the and and honestly in our system he would fit well too like he shoots the three he can get to the basket um a lot of those if you watched any Charlotte Hornets games this past year you saw miles Bridges play and you’re like yeah like that guy is going to be good um maybe you work out a sign and trade with Charlotte for I don’t know like people are going to hate this idea but miles bridges for Benedict mathine and and stuff um it’s just the idea miles Bridges is an unrestricted free agent and uh he made $15 million last year if you offer him a contract in the I’d say like high mid to high 20s you can probably land miles Bridges um and the thing is it would be a very very nice addition for this team I don’t care listen like I know people are going to say oh well the team chemistry this that and the other thing I don’t think you have to worry about team chemistry with Miles Bridges okay the off the court is the off the court I haven’t heard anybody say anything bad about him and Charlotte but it’s obvious like Charlotte just wants to go in a different direction but the thing is like I kind of don’t care if a guy can play ball a guy can play ball so it’s like miles Bridges maybe I I there’s some other names out there the Pacers could maybe trade for Harrison Barnes is a guy that comes to mind it seems like they been trying to trade him Tobias Harris good offensive player I haven’t seen enough of him on defense to really make an assertation or not if he’s a good defender or not I don’t think he’s great at it but he can score um but it would be like the equivalent of signing TJ Warren you know what I’m saying like that’s kind of what I think of of Tobias Harris um but honestly the guys I that most excite me are like d rozan uh Klay Thompson I I I don’t know if I I’m going to get too crazy about Klay Thompson but miles Bridges and D rozan are the two guys that I’m like yeah it would make a little bit of sense but the Pacers really really need somebody who’s a three and D guy uh and the idea now that the Pacers are in the marketplace since the Mikel Bridges trade popped off uh I’m kind of like all right so at least they’re serious like the and to be honest Kevin Pritchard has a history of fleecing okay uh we got Obie toppen for our ninth grader and uh you know we gave the Toronto Raptors our shitty draft picks and and Bruce Brown for uh Pascal SE so I think Kevin pritchard’s going to try to pull something off if I had to make a guess it’s going to be for either like a sign and trade with OG an anobi A sign and trade with Paul George or some type of sign a trade for Harrison Barnes or uh Brandon Ingram you know one of these guys that’s on the the the trading block one guy that I I’m just going to say this I’m going to throw this name out there um do with it what you want but one guy that I I’m like I’m starting to warm up to is dejonte Murray um I know Atlanta might not want to trade him uh but if we come up with a decent enough trade package we could maybe land him um the other thing is I don’t know if the Pacers go out there and just try to sign more decent role players like a cavus Caldwell Pope um it’s up in the air but just know uh the Mel Bridges trade changed everything for the Pacers and I knew it was going to um you know once I saw that trade go off I’m like well now the Pacers basically have to try to improve because if they if they go to the playoffs man with like all the teams in the East now like like Philly’s got like I think $77 million in cap space like free cap space or some like they’re a team that could sign OG and go get some stuff like they’re a team that’s probably going to bring back Nicholas patum um they’re probably going to try to bring back buddy heel depending on what he wants um and if they could get an OG an anobi or or Demar D rozan like you know even Philly like Philly could be a problem Um Zack lavine’s on the trading block but I’m not high on Zack LaVine uh he doesn’t play defense he’s not a good passer really um he he’s pretty much just an isolation scorer which granted if you’re the Pacers that helps um but it would be nice to get somebody who plays defense and Zack LaVine doesn’t do that uh so all I’m saying is right now at the current point in time the sky is kind of the limit for the Pacers because I I I have a strong feeling they’re going to renounce their rights to Doug mcdermit and I think OB topping is also a possibility because jerus Walker needs some minutes man he’s going to be coming off the bench for us this upcoming year and I think he could be really really good if you just give him some play time and you know I like Obi toppen a lot but jarus Walker I think is the better Defender and I think jarus Walker has the ability to be the better player so I I as much as I don’t want to talk about trading guys like Andrew nard and and Ben mathine and Aon neith if it means you’re G to get like a third a solidified number three a good number three by the way and like like just just so we’re clear if they are going to do a trade like that they need to get a Brandon Ingram they need to get uh I don’t know just just somebody good at that three spot um a Paul George an OG anobi right like they if if they’re going to trade those guys they need to get a guy like that in return um I’d be very upset if they traded Benedict Maan and Andrew nard for a guy like Klay Thompson or a guy like Harrison Barnes or you like or or Tobias Harris like one of these mid guys that it’s like yeah they’re good but they’re not great um but I I just like this this weekend is going to be very interesting because I believe June 30th is the deadline for uh uh players to opt in or out of their contract same thing with teams if they’re going to pick up team options or not uh so in the next four days here is going to start getting really crazy uh but it just it seems like ever since this trade happened now now the Pacers understand like is getting getting real in the Eastern Conference um and you know what like I understand why why Pacers fans want to run it back even I I I like I’d be shocked if they didn’t run it back with pretty much almost an identical roster but Ben mathan’s a guy that I look at and I’m like I don’t know if he’s ready to to start yet I I think we’ll start the year with him starting but if the Pacers could sign miles Bridges um they’re probably going to renounce their rights to uh who else Jaylen Smith which should maybe free up another $5 million right if they renounce their rights to those guys um you know I could I could see them making a a run at somebody like somebody good um so it’s not off the table anymore you know OG anobi the only way we get OG anobi is if he just says yeah I’m going to sign with you for for way less than what I want um but you never know it’s the Eastern Conference OG anobi played with Pascal se yakum he appears to like uh Tyrese halberton so I don’t know man I know I know there’s going to be players talking to each other I would love to see Paul George come back just like to make my heart whole again uh but I don’t know if that’s going to happen it seems like Paul George wants an astronomical amount of money but if the Pacers like all I’m saying is Paul George is kind of the big name out there at the moment LeBron’s supposedly going back to the Lakers I think that’s a given but I don’t know I don’t know what the Pacers are going to do um but if they can pull off some type of fleece job for a guy like Brandon Ingram or a guy like Paul George or OG anobi uh I’m I’m all in for it um I wouldn’t be mad if they went after miles Bridges or Tobias Harris or Klay Thompson even if we got Klay Thompson like it’s not the end of the world I we we need a shooter anyway and uh I don’t know how good Klay Thompson is at defense anymore but uh he’s a guy that can kill you from three uh he’s you know not what he used to be uh but you know like if the team takes a swing on him I can’t be mad uh but all I know is like it it it appears the Pacers are really really trying to Pro their roster so tell me what you guys think about this down below in the comment section below like helps me out subscribe if you guys want to see more on The Fast Break report I’m out this peace guys

  1. Miles Bridges would be a solid pickup, signing him would be worth it. Trading Mathurin or Nembhard to get him doesn’t really move the needle much in net benefit.

  2. Just some names thst come to mind for me : brandon ingram, jimmy butler, OG anunoby, P. George (if he accepts a 3rd star kindve role)

  3. Call Danny Ainge on how many picks and young guys it would take for Markenen. I'd do 2 firsts 2 seconds and one of either Mathurin or Walker.

  4. If we stay pat with this team, i like the odds of Mathurin becoming a 18+ point scorer this upcoming season. Id be down to trade any of the other young guys

  5. He didn’t say after that bridges trade that there motivated there adding regardless, the trade had nothing to do with it

  6. You know better than I do…but, it does not seem that the coach cares for Mathurian or Walker. Those guys need to understand that everything is “earned” he says. However he’ll play Nemhard & Sheppard?

    My conclusion:
Pacers trade Mathurian, Walker & Obi (perhaps sign & trade Smith) to get that wing player. It’s tragic bc with the shot clock running down, Haliburton-Siakam-Turner stood around watching Nemhard & Nesmith take crunch time shots…all spring. Mathurian wants the ball and will drive/create. That’s what the team needs instead of settling for lame jump shots. Tragic waste of talent.

  7. I'd be stoked with Bridges. But is this a situation where you hold put and wait to see how the year starts to play out? If we can let Obi and Jalen walk, and get Bridges that'd be wild

  8. OG just resigned with the Knicks. Love the D.Murray idea but that seems to be harder to make happen. I'd take Bridges for the right price.

  9. Why does everyone keep saying trade Benedict? Dude has the potential to be a star. Why give him away for a dude you can sign out right?
