Charlotte Hornets Draft Tidjane Saluan in 2024 NBA Draft

the pick is in the Charlotte Hornets have made a selection in the 2024 NBA draft I’m tanra batist and we’re joined by Doug Branson from locked on Hornets to break down the Hornets selecting ton Salon with the number six pick presented by LinkedIn LinkedIn jobs helps you find the qualified candidates you want to talk to faster post your job for free at linkedin.com lockon NBA so Doug with Salon coming from France Hornet’s fans may not be familiar with his game so give it maybe a quick tutorial on the power forward yeah I don’t know how many uh NBA fans are really uh uh you know hip to his game I know a lot of draft people people that pay attention to the draft are because he was a darling of sort of analytic more analytics focused uh draft observers tjan Salon 610 217 7′ one wingspan uh projects out to be sort of a big Wing big defensive Wing uh shooting is not necessarily concern but it definitely has to develop um he showed some stronger signs I think in the latter half of his last season for Chalet basket that that shooting was starting to come along that the the range shooting was starting to come along um good decent free throw shooter I think 82% uh almost 83% from the line so that that you know projects well for a shooting uh this is a big Wing project that uh very raw but if he you know puts on a lot of weight I mean you could be talking a guy that sort of maps out physically at least like a Yannis Sant TMO wow High Praise for for salon now with Miles Bridges Grant Williams still presently on the roster where do you see Salon fitting in at the four yeah I think if if they don’t resign miles there will definitely be an opportunity to play uh particularly for a team that I don’t think sees itself really even contending for a playin spot certainly not next season but maybe even extending a little bit further down the line um so yeah I mean you lose PJ Washington at the trade deadline as well so there is absolutely room at the forward position for him to get playing time I think the big question will be how ready is he to play um I think this is going to be a big test for a new front office and a new uh coaching staff helm by Charles Lee that that you know part of the reason Charles Lee was higher was because of Player Development this is going to be a huge test for that Player Development right off the Jump can they get this guy ready as soon as possible to contribute I I look at a guy like balal kabali last year also from France who a lot of people thought hey that guy was drafted a little higher than you know a lot of people were thinking is he going to be able to contribute he got a lot of minutes for Washington and was able to do some very interesting things that I think surprised a lot of people you know I don’t think Salon is going to come out of the jump and be like a rookie of the year Contender by any stretch but I think he absolutely can contribute to the the Hornets next season for more on the Hornets subscribe to locked on Hornets on YouTube or wherever you get your podcasts and for more on tjon Salon let’s get an inside look on his path to the NBA tjon Salon played at cholay Basket in France and is a Hot Topic in draft circles and deservedly so as he might have the most potential in the NBA draft I’m Lea tulen of the locked on NBA big boorn here’s what’s to know about ton he’s a 6’9 205lb Wing who’s only 18 years old and has played as best basketball late into the season and into the playoffs leading cholet to an upset quarterfinal win hitting big shot after big shot to score 19 points in a playoff game he averaged 10 points and four boards on the season but just one look at the film and you’re quickly convinced of his ability to translate to and eventually thrive in the modern NBA because he’s huge plays with tremendous hustle and his shot inspires Faith despite decent shooting numbers another thing I love about Salon is he does not shy away from the moment as many youngsters and growing Shooters do and he compare that with the athletic TR that Bodwell for defensive rebounding as he matures for more on tjon Salon Listen to Locked on NBA bigboard on YouTube or wherever you get your podcast and for continuing coverage of the 2024 NBA draft subscribe to locked on NBA on YouTube or wherever you get your podcasts part of the locked on podcast Network your team every day

  1. I was initially not happy. Ive had time to digest and think. The whole draft is full of uncertainty so why not swing for the fence and pick a kid with a stupid high ceiling? So, ill root for him

  2. This kid grew an inch and gained 12 pounds between the time he was drafted and the time Branson went through his height and weight.

  3. wasted a first round pick on a second round player. Just on the hopes that he'll end up being a unicorn.

We coulda got a proven 7'2 player who recently won a ncaa tourney.
We coulda kept him on the roster or traded him. There are many teams right now looking for a true center.

  4. Moving Miles Bridges just so this guy can get some playing time would be an absolute joke. Choosing an 18 year old with potential over a bonafied 3 level scorer with insane athleticism ? Nah this roster isn’t all that bad when healthy. That would be a mistake

  5. Big Athletic Wing with guard skills & defense is exactly what they needed to go for.. Now get Nic Claxton and they'll have something..

  6. I’ve been listening on Spotify for the past few months, what happened to all of Doug’s hair??? 😭
