[Music] just look at the jump guys through his career as a Freshman Learning the game nine points four rebounds and then you see what he did his junior year when he was the national player of the year and then his senior year came back I mean 25 points and 12 rebounds by the way I mean you talk about a guy that was constantly fouled he went to the free throw line 436 times yeah the he’s he he he’s an interest this is the most surprising pick so far for me of the draft I just didn’t see him going this High what do you think of the fit though with the Grizzlies well I’ll tell you why I like the fit with the Grizzlies jiren Jackson needs a five next to him that’s why people they tried to play jiren Jackson Steve CK tried to play him at the five in the USA games and the Memphis tried to play him at the five this year he missed Steph Adams quite a bit and so did that team so I think what Memphis is saying here is this is our next stepen Adams and I think that’s okay that’s fine Zack Ed is one of the eye of the beholder guys I did think he was going to be a first round pick some analytical models have him way high and some analytical models say you have to defend in space this isn’t College his steel rate was so low can he move his feet things like that so I can’t wait I I’m going to enjoy watching him play cuz it’s a fascinating storyline how he fits into the NBA here’s what we got to monitor it’s a good pick for the Memphis Grizzlies for this reason four the four previous Seasons before last year they were big time with points in the paint last season they were dead last John Moran only played nine games he’ll be back you know he’s the focal point okay but you need a beig to give you some kind of presence and can generate some points in the paint at some point okay that’s why you make this pick I totally understand it I agree with you I’m surprised he went this high but I totally understand why they did it because they gave you jiren Jackson needs help down no doubt about it [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause]

The biggest concern for Edey is how will he react defensively on switches, we saw in the playoffs this year that bigs can get exposed like what happened to Rudy Gobert, teams will be looking to switch everything onto edey. At 7’4 of course he’s going to dominate in college, but the NBA is different he’s not gonna score the way he did in college. I see him being like a Rudy Gobert or Clint capela.
