with the 29th pick in the 2024 NBA draft the Utah Jazz Select Isaiah clier from the University of Southern California Isaiah Coler from USC has been waiting so patiently in the green room for his moment to hear his name called and now here it is he says he grew up studying actually old DVDs which is pretty rare to hear any player more than 2000 say that exactly Andrea of Pete marovich and Magic Johnson when he was younger he really credits playing safety in youth football for his court Vision now as a point guard here headed to the NBA he did miss a little bit of time at USC with a hand injury but when he came back I mean his numbers Andrea 17.6 points 47% from the field 38% from three that was all after returning from injury here he is a skilled strong physical guard I mean heavy pick and roll operator you heard Bobby mention Tyler kic this is the type of player that Utah is getting he has excellent size strength his shot creating in transition he plays with a burst of speed he is an explosive athlete from the point guard position from the offg guard position he can create with the ball in his hands they got a great guard in Isaiah CER he’s actually not as big as because I thought uh he was listed at much bigger he measured out to about 6’2 but you’re right Andrea like he’s a downhill driver that can just bully you into the lane uh he’s a bit of a home run passer but he’s got really good Vision uh some of his decisions could have been better he turned the ball over a little bit too much and and he’s a limited shooter but his talent is undeniable gets to his spots in transition he gets into the paint and he is a really really strong finisher averaged over 16 points a game shooting just under 50 % for the Trojans and his assist percentage was excellent he’s a playmaking point guard and early on the season a lot of people thought he could wind up being the number one overall pick obviously that didn’t happen being taken uh at the end of the first round number 29 to Utah but there’s a lot of ability there with Isaiah ker young man from Marietta Georgia Isaiah ker headed to the Utah Jabs his USC teammate bronny James is hoping to hear his name called tomorrow at the draft rolls on [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause]
