Mikal Bridges to the Knicks Changes EVERYTHING…

yo what’s going on y’all it’s con back here again today with another video we don’t have time for an intro cuz we just got not one not two but three massive pieces of news from W I’m going to go ahead and break them down the big thing that this video is going to be titled after and then we have a couple things that are the Fallout the first thing male Bridges just out of nowhere 1 p.m. night before the draft where we didn’t really think he was that available the Nets have continuously said we’re not trading him he’s basically Untouchable well they got a Godfather offer from the team that’s also in New York in the Knicks they get another villain NOA guy it’s him it’s Brunson it’s Josh Hart they bring him over in exchange for Boon bogdanovich four unprotected first round picks a protected first round pick from the Bucks and an unprotected pick swap so like six five and a half first round picks and a second round it is a massive haul for Brooklyn and I’ve got to give them a shout out real quick because I have been really on them about the fact they haven’t blown this thing up they haven’t tried to you know start from the beginning I know they didn’t have their picks but it just felt like they were going nowhere fast they remained insistent oh we can build around Mel Bridges we can try and bring in another star when they’re yet so far away from competing and they got a ridiculous haul between this and the KD trade because Mel was part of that they got like nine 10 first round picks by trading Kevin Durant which is completely absurd in its own rights and these are like unprotected real first round picks these aren’t just random like protected Lottery protected and stuff just straight up unprotected picks for the most part they also get unprotected swap that bucks first rounder this is a ridiculous haul for male Bridges and people clowned them me included because they didn’t trade male at the deadline for some of the rocket selections as well as Jaylen green they didn’t trade him for like four first round picks from the Grizzlies around the deadline a couple of years ago there were a lot of opportunities where they could have Trad Mel for a lot and they went ahead in the capitalize on a fantastic offer so I’ve got to give the Nets their flowers and we’ll talk about them more in a moment don’t worry because there’s way more news with them let’s talk about the Knicks now this Knicks team might be stacked going into next year already I picture them assuming they brought back jobi kept Isaiah hardenstein as possibly the biggest threat most likely the biggest threat to take down the Boston Celtics because a lineup of Jaylen Brunson Dante Devan chenzo who’s another vova guy I forgot to mention him ojen anobi Julius Randle Mitchell Robinson or Isaiah hartstein fantastic starting fight you’ve got great defense you have a rising Superstar caliber player on Jaylen Brunson they almost made the Eastern Conference fals this year despite being decimated by injuries the Knicks felt like the PowerHouse and now with Mel Bridges things get way scarier although that is going to if they’re keeping OG on anobi or not because part of me feels like this is a deal that they make if they know they’re going to lose OG and have to try and find a way to go ahead and make it so that it’s not like they’re completely decimated by the loss of ojen and noi because they have not went ahead and made any deal with him yet which is kind of weird because like SE yakum has already agreed to a deal with the Pacers like teams can resign their own for agents and it feels like Oobi was just a given to go back to the Knicks now it seems like he might be trying to play hard ball being like I know you need me here so someone to ask for a lot more money so maybe this means ojan noi is walking and that they messed up with those negotiations and so they bring mamin as the replacement but if they keep OJ on anobi a starring lineup of Jaylen Brunson Michael or OG and then the other one at the two and the three Julius Randall and Isaiah harste if they can keep him the money might get kind of hard at that point but even if it’s Mitchell Robinson you’ve got great Defenders all over the place versatility guys who can score whether it’s j Brunson or Julius Randall you’ve now got Mel Bridges and ojen anobi who are like the perfect modern day NBA 3D Wings to put out there on the perimeter to go ahead and lock up the opposing team’s best score it is just an unbelievable Squad especially when you consider Tom Tibido at the helm you still got a great bench too of like Duce McBride Dante demon chenzo if you keep iHeart then you have Mitchell Robinson coming off the bench you still have press aoua if you bring him back in restricted free agency this is an unbelievably stacked team in New York now they did have to give up a ton to bring in Mel Bridges like again they gave up four of their own unprotected first round picks as far as we know at the moment they gave up a swap they gave up an additional first they’ve just been holding on to this war chest of assets to try and make that Big Splash and they do still some picks they can trade because they had a bunch of them but this was kind of the Big Splash unless maybe they eventually trade Julius Rano on his contract along with some of those picks for an upgrade in that way that could still be something they explore in the future but for the moment this was the big fish they went after so they paid a lot yeah this is probably an overpay for male Bridges I would have been kind of upset if my favorite team trade for although my favorite team is the thunder they have like 15 first round picks so I probably wouldn’t have cared but most teams trading for him I think it’s probably a horrible idea I do think male Bridges fits so perfectly on this team even though it’s definitely an overpay in my eyes I still think as long as you bring back ojin anobi and this team looks the way it could potentially look this was probably the right call because that immediately makes you the second best team in the east no questions asked at the moment we’ll see what some of the other teams do and I think it makes you able to RI rival the Boston Celtics like you have wing Defenders for Tatum and brown you’ve got a great defensive big it just makes a lot of sense so we’ll have to wait and see what happens with Oobi if they lose them I like this deal a lot less but if they bring him in even though they gave up a bunch I like this deal a lot for the New York Knicks I’m going to say that they were winners of this as well as the Brooklyn Nets who not only went ahead and made this happen but they also did their own thing too on top of that where they made a trade straight up for picks basically they went ahead and brought back some of their picks into trade with Houston and gave them a Phoenix Sun selections like some draft capital from the Phoenix Suns for the Kevin Durant trade basically seemingly that the Brooklyn Nets are going to go ahead and just completely bottom out in tank now because if they’ve got their own picks back why not trade everybody get a bunch of assets so it seems like now like cam Johnson Dorian finny Smith maybe Nick claxon they’re going to let him go although he’s young they could keep him but anybody now in that Nets roster seems like they are available for a trade which is going to be massive for them because DFS and cam Johnson’s particularly are great role players I love both those guys on the Thunder so that’s something I’m keeping an eye out for I mean also on the topic of the Thunder really just FR agency in general If this means Oobi walks for agency just got way more interesting because like the Thunder could sign him the Sixers could try and bring him in as one of those star pieces on that team if they’re willing to pay how much he’s asking for like his for agency gets really interesting now because of this but not only did the Nets go ahead and bring back their picks which between that and getting all the selections from Mel Bridges home run night in my opinion for the Brooklyn Nets they really killed this but Houston apparently the reason why they let this happened because you might say oh well why are the Rockets giving up the net picks when it seems like they’re heading towards a tank they’re going to lose Mel Bridges why would they go ahead and do this well W is saying that the reason the Rockets are doing this is because Houston wants to trade for Kevin Durant and that becomes far easier if they can return the Suns picks that they gave up to the nets for Kevin Durant suns have said they’re keeping Durant for now but that could change next season and at the moment Houston has the picks to make the Suns whole again so basically the Houston Rockets are now doing like Galaxy brain like 40 chest type stuff where they said okay sure Brooklyn we’ll give you your picks back just give us some of those picks from the Phoenix Suns which even if they don’t Kevin Durant down the line those are still going to be very valuable picks seemingly but now they’re positioning themselves preemptively towards the front of the line in a potential Kevin Durant sweep Stakes if he becomes available in about a year or so say at the deadline the Suns aren playing great we know KD he likes to request trades the Rockets have thrown themselves into a bidding war that we didn’t even know had any chance of happening anytime soon so it’s all over the place there is so much to go ahead and digest with this with the Rockets I mean it makes sense like if you just want to kind of Kick the Can down the road for a few more years with those draft picks you know you do have those Brooklyn Nets ones which could be really good next season but if you would rather just you know wait see what happens with Kevin Durant you could still get great Suns picks it makes sense from the Brooklyn Net side of things they get their own draft Capital back they yet an absolute hul for Mel Bridges only upping the value they got back when they trade away Kevin Branton Kyrie Irving and James Harden like the Nets all in all as bad as that big three era went I do think they got out of it kind of like Bandits with the amount of assets they got in return huge credit to them people were saying that they might be like the old Brooklyn Nets where they Trad all those picks to the Celtics and then things completely fell apart from there for years and they were in the gutter they finally worked their way back and then immediately maybe made the same mistake now it looks a lot better for the Brooklyn Net so I got to give them their flowers cuz I’ve been very hard on them um now we’re getting a report here that the Knicks trade for Mel Bridges does not change their hope to resign ojen noi although it’s becoming increasingly unlikely the Knicks will retain Isaiah hartstein makes sense as a thunder fan to me that feels like ihart could end up being an OKC or I could see him to any number of teams with cap space but the Thunder one of the more prominent teams that has that space available so definitely makes things interesting too but I’m I’m telling you if the Knicks find a way to get oan and Obi and they can run out of starting lineup of Brunson mcale OG Randall and Mitchell Robinson with still Josh hard and Dante D Chen dece McBride and precious atua all these guys off the bench plus they could do some more work in for agency I’m sure they could get veteran contracts with that type of group at these top like eight positions that’s immediately like one of the best eight-man rotations we’ve seen in quite some time I really in the Moment Like This for the Knicks again assuming they get OG if they lose him this probably is a disaster because you trade manual quickly you trade to RJ Barrett to get Oobi into town and I really think this only makes sense to give up all these assets if you’re going completely All In on this next season it seems like if they keep OG that’s exactly what they’re doing but yeah I was not expecting to have to make this video right now I was just sitting on the couch with my girlfriend and then all of a sudden I was like I’m sorry I ran to the computer turn on the recording setup it is insane the amount of implications this has for free agency with ojen anobi and now Isaiah hartstein and the Eastern Conference as a whole with the Knicks becoming this powerhouse it’s crazy what it could mean for other players getting traded by the Brooklyn Nets by the way the Nets final hall for Kevin Durant this is coming from Underdog MBA cam Johnson eight unprotected first round picks a protected first round pick a 2028 first round pick swap a 2028 unprotected pick swap three second round picks a ton of assets just for Kevin Durant big night for the Rockets too potentially looking down the line if Kevin Durant ends up in Houston somehow we’ll remember this night and then just for the the New York Knicks they might have made themselves the Bonafide second team out there in the Eastern Conference trying to Ral the Boston Celtics cuz this is a stack Squad easily the best Knicks team assuming OG returns that I I’ve seen in my lifetime I don’t think it’s even close so yeah those are my initial thoughts on this deal let me know Down Below in Suddenly on the night before the NBA Draft, the New York Knicks acquired Mikal Bridges in a trade with the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for a ton of draft capital and Bojan Bogdanovic. It’s a shocking move to say the least. This pairs him up with Jalen Brunson, Julius Randle, Donte Divincenzo, Mitchell Robinson, and Josh Hart in New York to form one of the most formidable rotations in the entire NBA. Not to mention, if they’re able to retain OG Anunoby and / or Isaiah Hartenstein in Free Agency. They’ve established themselves as a bonafide second best team in the East behind the Boston Celtics, and they may not be done yet. Additionally, the Houston Rockets seem to be trying to get Phoenix Suns picks in order to eventually pursue Kevin Durant or Devin Booker. So, let’s talk about it.
