young man had a fantastic birthday week he turned 20 on Monday and he’s perfect for the NBA when you talk about catch and shoot well look one only one issue with Reed Shepard and I don’t want to be critical it’s his size that’s it that’s it he’s just a shorter shooting guard the question is can he handle the ball a little bit maybe become a point guard but it’s not just the shooting Kevin and Stephen A it’s his steel rate block rate he’s got one of the best feels in the college game and maybe in any game analytically people loved this guy he was at the top of the analytics boards not just for the high percentage shooting but for his defensive efforts on blocks and Steals and things like that he can finish at the paint and that’s the thing he’s going to get on the floor doing his shot is so good it reminds me of a Klay Thompson now he’s smaller it’s a big difference between 67 and 62 in the NBA a huge difference and he’s not super long but I love the pick for the Rockets they need shooting every team needs shooting I completely agree with Bob Meers which is a rarity I can we the I I’m ready to I’m at 828 here approve of his EV it was right on point let’s add this the Houston Rockets I think was like 34.7% fromo range they ranked 28th in the NBA okay third worst in the NBA you got to get some Shooters you got to have people that can put the ball in a hole and here’s the one thing that I was say because you’re absolutely right different big difference between 6761 but Fred Van v ain’t the tallest dude in the world and he is in Houston making noise just like he was in Toronto making noise and helping them capture a championship you would like to have more height but he has proven you don’t need it in order to be successful on the most elite level in basketball which is the National Basketball Association I love this kid Reed Shepard he’s a gamer he’s a marksman when you can shoot like that a great coach and I do mean a great coach like eay udoka will find a way to utilize this kid I like this pick by the way it’s not just the shooting he’s a phenomenal passer and the Kentucky team loved them as a teammate in transition he always found the right guy and can anticipate I think we all talk Al about this before the broadcast I mean he went number three but if he was 6’4 65 he’d be the number one pick look I think he surprised himself and the Kentucky or the whole program they thought he’d be a three four year guy he came in was so good and so efficient wasn’t just the numbers it was the efficiency of the numbers but if your mom and dad play Kentucky basketball don’t you automatically have to be good at basketball if problem bad when both mom and D get it together [Music] [Applause] [Music] n [Applause]
