  1. I watched this pick, THEN watched Hornets right after draft a tall wing that CAN shoot lmao smh. Holland seems like he’ll be the most aggressive player on floor for us tho 🐶 so we shall see

  2. I said weeks ago that I was only taking Cody Williams, Dalton Knect or Ron Holland. This will be a fast pace, athletic, defensive team. Jaden Ivey, Ron Holland, Ausar Thompson & Jalen Duren running with Cade. Tragon Langdon told fans in the press conference that the focus idle developing the young guys. You guys don’t see the vision yet. Multiple point of attack defensive wings that can run & also create. Easier defense for Cade & Ivey.

  3. If our athletes can become shooters, I like our future. If not… we will be drafting in the lottery for years… Unless we also trade all our picks away.

  4. My initial reaction. #1 Definitely surprised by the pick, but maybe that should give us more confidence that our new leadership is thinking for themselves rather than letting the media and "experts" think for them. #2 Says he patterns his game after Mikal Bridges and Jayden McDaniels. Yes, please! #3 Very much an Ausar clone with elite athleticism, amazing footwork on defense, and defense first identity. #4 The Ron Holland at the end of the G League season very different from first half of the season. Showed a lot of improvement. Just out of high school. It was an adjustment. Work ethic is evident. Expecting more rapid development from one of the youngest in this draft class. #5 His shot seems more natural and fluid than Ausar's. Drafting him this high tells me our new shot doctor thinks he can develop this kid's shot. #6 Best case scenario, Ausar and Holland develop into reliable 3&D guys and present a defensive pairing that is a nightmare for other teams.#7 In this draft class, this kid has as good a chance as anyone to succeed…or fail. Cheering him on to succeed.

  5. AWFUL PICK. just watched tape on this guy, he may not even make the fn team. 24% from 3. 30% jump shot. Only shot 40% fg because he drives only. Missing layups. I cant believe this shit!!!!

  6. We going for the Record in turnovers, boys! Jaden “Cocaine is a Hell of a Drug” Ivey and him are going to be running so damn fast and throwing the ball away, we going to make history!

  7. I thought they would go off-script. He has a scorer’s mentality. Where does he fit into that wing rotation along with Ausar and Fontecchio 🤷🏾‍♂️

  8. John Hollinger had Rod Holland as his first pick. If you look at his G league season Ron Holland averaged more points than Jalen Green and Jalen Green was 2nd pick in a loaded draft.

  9. I like the pick, just curious if we trade ivey or keep him and play small ball with ausar at the 4 . Maybe holland just comes off the bench. Either way this kids a hooper

  10. It's the land of misfit toys…we gather bigs and guys who can't shoot. OMG..Probably could have gotten him at 9 if anything. I guess the shooting coach is really good….for this squad he better be a sorcerer

  11. Still scratching my head. Not sure what Trajan Langdon was thinking when their workout with Ron Holland was cancelled. I might be wrong.

  12. Det takes another non shooter fills no holes. while spurs and wizards get the players they want and collect more draft assets wtf is wrong with this organization.

  13. Yeah I can see that the draft room is absolutely ecstatic, joyful, head over heels and extremely exuberant about the pick they made. You know like how Dan Campbell and Brad Holmes reactions were when they drafted the player they wanted. Ok maybe not.

  14. Ron Holland is a baller , he's a 2-way player that can play defense and very athletic, good pick I think..

  15. I'm sorry, but what I see is Stanley Johnson the 2nd in our pick.

Cade needs spacing and Holland does not provide that. The Pistons are too worried about filling the seats around the conference table, and not concerned enough with the team on the floor. I hope future moves will be with the TEAM in mind.

  16. Yeah look at what the knicks are doing. You want to have defensive wings now days. Honestly I’m thinking they will let Holland and Thompson develop over the next couple years, and who ever can learn to shoot with Fred Vincent will be very valuable… whoever can’t will have trouble staying in the nba these days; but I’m sure one of the 2 will work out amazingly well. He’s not even 19 for a couple more weeks! The upside is huge!

  17. I know I just commented but looking at the faces in that draft room and if this low% from 3 pick Doesn't Pan out, I can't help but think of the last stanzas of the poem Casey At The Bat with some word changes in semicolon:

Oh, somewhere in this favoured land the sun is shining bright,

    The band is playing somewhere, and somewhere hearts are light;

    And somewhere 'fans are cheering,
for their teams with a shout,'

But there is no joy in 'Hitsville—mighty Trajan' has struck out.

Just a little humor folks. Gotta' laugh to keep from cryin'. I hope it does work out for the fans and this young fella. I truly do.

  18. Man Detroit just doesn’t have any one in the teams front office that knows what the team needs to move forward, just goes to show you gores still calls all the shots for this team.

  19. Does this mean that Detroit isn't going after Tobias this summer? Or do they get him and let Holland develop more slowly off the bench? 🤔

  20. this franchise is never gonna change man, forever obsessed with players who can't shoot the basketball. Poor Cade Cunningham gonna have to endure another season of a completely clogged paint.

  21. These fans and some of the content creators kill me with this..first of all its not a secret that this team needs shooting for spacing in todays NBA but if you watch this team and no matter what i watched every game last this season i was just as disappointed and feel the defense were a very big problem as well. Can't keep their man in front of them, not protecting the paint! Not fighting through screens! Man i didn't see any shooters at #5 that would of made a big difference like i saw the potential of having a upgrade on the defensive side. We still have free agency and trades to address that area so it not said or done yet but Ron Holland has the best upside at where they were drafting so im good. Not looking for a fit that no one else drafted until pick17 over pure talent.
