So we can try to bring him back and if he doesn’t want to come back or choose to go somewhere else. That’s his prerogative, we’ll have to work with that. But I think we’re prepared to like, plug-and-play, so to speak. I think we look at some of the teams that have been good in the past. They have to find a way to replace fourth and fifth starters, sixth men off the bench and still keep rolling. It’ll be nice if KCP is back they have a lot of continuity together but I think all and all the stuff I’ve looked at the lineup stuff and everything Christian Braun is one of the best net rating guys in the league as is KCP. So I think if he has to step into the starting lineup, like probably projected I think, you know, we’ll be okay if KCP doesn’t return.

    Is there anyone willing to give 20m+ to KCp though? aging, decling, not someone who can be an on floor coach and master unlike CP3.

    Booth touches on this, but fans need to realize KCP may not want to resign even if the $ are comparable. Dude got traded to Washington then traded to Denver. Getting to free agency and actually picking where to play can be very desirable for someone like KCP.

    Losing KCP for nothing and running back a roster with like 6 guaranteed rookie contracts plus Zeke isn’t going to cut it.

    Braun isn’t a shooter. 

    He can’t play SG for them if they want to win a title

    We’re doing this to avoid the 2nd apron, but what can we do even in the 1st apron? Sign maybe couple of MLE guys who may or may not be a solid contributor? We’re talking gaining couple of Reggie Jackson level players in the 1st apron rather than keeping KCP and be in the 2nd apron. I guess it gives us more flexibility beyond this off season if we go the couple of Reggie Jackson level players though for this off season, cause KCP contract could be an albatross

    This is 100% dependent on Stan paying him – Josh will give his insight but it’s up to his dad. We have bird rights don’t forget that.

    If he gets 25/3-4 year it doesn’t make sense to re-sign him.

    We still need to pay AG who’s in his prime as well.

    Harsh reality is KCP is most likely gone and there’s really nothing we can do to stop him getting that bag. Calvin already extended him after the trade which gave him 2 years here instead of 1.

    We’re in a shitty situation with cap and assets – it is what it is. We need to pray Watson and Braun develop to what we know they can be next year.

    In a vacuum, simply put : J-holla on 1yr min/tmle>KCP double digit multiyr deal.

    The mutual acquaintance is there and he had one of best season of his career, steady in PO as well. Holiday would be an excellent re-signing despite sacrificing a sensible roster spot to bring him back.

    Focus on backup center for last spot: Len, Theis, Noel etc.

    Ideally trade Nnaji and/or the bball terrorist for a backup pg like Alvarado.

    You either sign KCP and lock in the team as-is right now or you do not sign KCP and can make some moves. That’s the options.

    The 2nd apron is unforgiving and this issue has been a long time coming and includes past decisions like MPJs and Nnajis contracts.

    I like KCP but I am not in the “we can never win another game ever if we lose KCP” camp. Lots of fear there. You can look through all the teams that won multiple titles in shorter windows and see starters change.

    Freezing your team right now with the cap rules is short sighted.
