I’ve only been able to find one person reporting on the exact picks the Thunder used to trade back into the first round for pick # 26 and that person is Jake Fischer, so I use the word “reporting” pretty loosely. But if his sources are telling him correctly this time, these are the picks OKC is shipping to NYK for Dillon Jones. Looks pretty intentional that OKC kept at least one 2nd pick in each of the next 3 drafts and the one they kept each year is likely the best of the picks they had available.

They also left their massive stockpile of 2028-2030 2nd round picks untouched. I imagine NYK was very adamant about the picks being sooner rather than later as they are about to enter some payroll hell and are going to need to fill end of the bench spots with cheap contracts the next few years.

I’ll try to keep the graphic updated as any further trades are made.

To me, the 2025 draft is one where on paper you go “THE THUNDER WILL HAVE FOUR FIRST ROUND PICKS!!!” but you open your eyes and….it’s not that pretty.

Thunder gets the best of either theirs or LAC’s picks, but with HOU being top 10 protected, it’s all but guaranteed that if they flop they’re keeping their pick, else we’re picking late lotto again. Basically, unless the Clippers just slip on a banana peel that’s going to be a very late pick as HOU wants to start winning.

Thunder gets MIA’s 1st….except it’s legit lotto-protected! Another “OH :(” Best to roll to next year.

PHI’s is interesting. If they choke on a dick we could get 7th – end of lotto…else it’s best to roll over to next year.

UTAH is like HOU – if they’re ass cheeks there’s a great chance they’re going to keep that pick. Fuck.

So of the four picks, realistically we’re looking at this best-case scenario:

    LAC draws #1

    PHI draws #7

    HOU draws 11

UTAH & MIA side-steps the lotto

4 firsts next year, definitely gonna do something with that.

    Thanks for putting this together

Controlling 20% of the 2029 second round is pretty funny

(Obviously I imagine a good amount of these will be traded)

  5. Every time I see this I chuckle, a 5 year old could probably still maintain a contender with these picks

That unprotected pick swap in 2028 could be really spicy

    If every shook out (standings wise) as it did this year, next year we have;

    12th, 15th, 16th, and lose UTA pick

Edit: off by one in two picks

That unprotected 2026 LAC pick might be a great one

We are def trading some of 25”FRP for player with good size

  10. Given all of the FRPs in the next two years, it makes no sense to keep our SRPs. I mean, we can either dump them all on NYK for Jones, or we can draft and stash and pray, but these aren’t going to be roster spots.

Do we have a two Denver firsts? Looks like we have one in 2027 and 2029 but the 2027 one could potentially not convey until 2029?

  12. Why does the NBA do all the pick Protection stuff? You should either trade your pick and lose it… or don’t

Do you have this as an online spreadsheet I could bookmark? The way you set this up is so readable and I might miss one of these posts!

  14. Shoutout to OP for putting this together, as well as the people stressing over 5 second round picks that we won’t have roster space for
