OG anobi is staying in New York sources tell our Ain W wowski that the free agent Ford intends to sign a 5-year $212 million contract to return to the Knicks the deal includes a player option and a trade kicker this of course is good news for New York especially after acquiring Mel Bridges so the Big Apple got even sweeter following that acquisition of bridges and the signing of anobi as the New York Knicks are now tied with Denver and KC for the second shortest odds to win next season’s title on ESPN bet the Celtics remain heavy favorites to repeat all right legs is back with us as well as Kendrick Perkins Tim I’m going to start with you yeah who do you think uh is a team under the most pressure after the Knick move I’m going to go with Milwaukee for the answer to this question um I know Giannis was hurt this past postseason all right and he didn’t play at all whereas Joel embiid was able to play HT all right he at least he was on the court and I know that Giannis has a championship I get that part too but when you think about Milwaukee being under pressure I know that Giannis is locked up at the very least for the next three years before a player option kicks in that don’t stop the stars from asking out and you got to wonder how long he’s going to want to stay in Milwaukee there’s been speculation about that that’s number one number two all right coexistence of Damen Lillet and and and Giannis that matters too number three you going to build this roster because you got a superstar on Yannis San DMO that’s highly competitive that’s a Rough Rider that ain’t trying to settle he wants to win number four Doc Rivers um we know that when he arrived in Milwaukee it wasn’t a successful stint you didn’t record a 500 record and you got bounced out in the first round obviously because of health reasons primarily more so than anything else but here’s what we got to watch out for legs perk who’s the new lead assistant in Milwaukee be Darin h a guy we all felt didn’t deserve to get knocked out of the box by the Lakers as their head coach he’s brought back to Milwaukee he’s got great relationships there if doc Rivers ain’t producing if Doc Rivers is struggling they’re going to look to make a change he’s not there by accident yeah he could be there to be that lead assistant he certainly ain’t trying to undermine Nobody But at the end of the day we know how this business works and so doc has something to prove and doc has to make sure that he he you know he he he you know provides himself some job security and the roster has to be improved because you want to make sure that Giannis doesn’t want to ask out I think Milwaukee is a team that qualifies with this particular question I think it’s fair look I want to see if you guys agree with this because I felt like this uh when Milwaukee won the championship with Giannis when Denver won it with joic both situations to me felt like these are more than one Championship type situations but yet here we are with Milwaukee we’re trying to figure out if they can get back there they clearly wanted to by going and acquiring Damen lard but there are a lot of questions about that team um that we all felt last year second half of the Year Doc Rivers you know didn’t really have the impact in certain areas that we were waiting to see so now I I agree Stephen A there’s a lot of pressure on that situation too a lot of pressure on Doc Rivers a lot of pressure on Giannis uh to try to get back to the mountain top particularly now since they’ve won the championship what’s happened the Boston Celtics have ascended as clearly the top team not just in the East but the top team in basketball but if you’re Milwaukee what moves do you make because look I’m I’ve been a huge fan of Chris milon uh I gave him a nickname moneymaking milon because when they went on that run and win that NBA championship you know one could argue you know he was right there Toe to Toe who was the Batman who was the robin of the team because moneymaking militon was doing special things in the fourth quarter but injury set him back he looks old in in today’s game the most important position in the NBA in my opinion when you’re trying to win the NBA championship is the wing position we saw it with the Denver Nuggets right they don’t win a championship as great as joic and Murray were you don’t win a championship without uh Aaron Gordon we saw it with the Boston Celtics they’re loaded with wings athletic Wings two-way players yeah Jaylen Brown was arguably the best player in the postseason because of what he provided on both ends of the floor if you’re Milwaukee you got to get that guy you got to get that guy it’s a must it’s a reason the Knicks went out and got Mel Bridges and OG and and you know didn’t hesitate to give OG and and noi his money because it’s the most important position I feel like the front office of the Milwaukee Bucks it’s time for them to have and make some tough decisions I don’t know what the market is for for for uh for Chris midleton but I do believe now he has some okay moments he had some nice moments in the postseason but him and Brook Lopez I think it’s about that time for them to search and see what they could you know get back for those guys because they need to get younger at the wing position well Brook Lopez in the last year his dealer 23 million uh Chris Middleton if I remember correctly I don’t I know he’s got a $34 million player option after next season making 31.6 million this upcoming season those are movable contracts so I think it’s I think that’s a viable suggestion that you made perk those are movable contracts for the Milwaukee Bucks make no mistake about it um we’ll see what they do they they better do something because standing Pat ain’t gonna get it done that’s not going to beat the Boston Celtics it ain’t gonna beat the New York Knicks either by the [Music] [Applause] way NBA is
