🚨Warriors TRADE ALERT: Golden State Trading For Lindy Waters; Send Pick #52 In NBA Draft To Thunder

[Music] some more breaking news to get to here on Golden State Warriors today for those of you who are hoping that the warriors were going to hold on to pick number 52 and bringing a young player onto this roster it’s not going to happen because the Golden State Warriors have traded the 52nd overall pick in the 2024 NBA draft round two today to the Oklahoma City Thunder for guard Lindy Waters III who is he we have a breakdown coming up of course and some thoughts on this trade coming up just around the corner but first this is why you subscribe to the channel ladies and gentlemen when the Warriors make a move we talk about it and we make a video that’s a big reason why we’re the largest independently run Warriors channel right here on YouTube that covers this team every single day and we’re north of 63,000 subscribers so hit that sub button right now to stay in the know with all things done and keep in mind that NBA free agency does begin on Sunday anytime the Warriors make a move anytime there’s a big juicy report or rumor we’ll break it down here on the show Shams Tron you’re breaking the news just moments ago that the Thunder trading Lindy Waters II to Golden State for the number 52 overall pick Anthony Slater of the athletic Warriors beat reporter adding on top of that saying the Warriors plan to keep Lindy Waters iiii past his Sunday day guarantee date per sources $2.2 million next year they like him as a deep rotation option so clearly for Golden State they looked at the draft board the prospects available where they were positioned at 52 overall and they said can we get a player at 52 who’s better and more ready than Lindy Waters their answer to that no which is why they’re making this trade here and it’s a player for pick swap dubs get Waters who was a udfa and then worked his way up and got some rotation minutes for OKC over the last three years and then the Thunder led by general manager Sam presty who always stockpile picks are going to be on the board once again at 52 overall the Wiest contract $2.2 million and then he will be an unrestricted free agent in 2025 so it’s a one-year contract pretty much that the Warriors are taking on a cool story here Lindy Waters is his high school teammates or was high school teammates with Atlanta Hawk Superstar Trey young but they don’t really like one another they don’t have a great relationship Trey Young from high school went to Oklahoma Lindy waters went to Oklahoma State to kind of get out of Trey young Shadow a little bit and there’s been some beef between both of them still to me it kind of sounds like High School drama oh Trey young you think you’re the star I’m the star I’m going to go somewhere else to get out of your Shadow so I can live up to my potential that I believe I have of course up to this point Lindy Waters II third has been a back end of the rotation player and Trey young a multi-time All-Star who up lead the Hawks to the Eastern Conference Finals a couple of years ago is Steph Curry light maddening to watch play basketball because he is a foul Merchant and always baits into fouls but has a pretty intriguing offensive game of course that sometimes can be fun to watch because he can make it rain from all three levels last year Lindy Waters with OKC three and a half points per game 1.1 rebounds per a half an assist 47% from the field 43 1.5% from three-point range he only got 7 and2 minutes and only played 38 games for OKC now keep in mind back a couple of years ago he was getting more and the production was up but OKC was not the team then that they are now this past year led by a stable of young studs on that team they claim the number one seed in the Western Conference but golden state is also a talented team are they number one in the west worthy no but they do need some depth on the back end of the bench which is probably why they look at Waters as a player who can get some minutes from time to time as for his game kind of that traditional three in player who will hit some threes he’ll play some defense can be spotty from time to time he’s already 26 years old there are also some injury concerns with him and this is what impacted his status going into the NBA draft a couple of years ago and I imagine it’s partially why he was an undrafted free agent coming out of Oklahoma State multiple concussions when he was playing in college my take on this don’t expect expect Waters to really crack the rotation and get that many minutes and less injuries arise or he really impresses Steve Kerr and the coaching staff picks in the 50s in the NBA draft they don’t have as much value as let’s say a second round pick obviously in the NFL two rounds in the NBA draft seven rounds in the NFL draft but the Warriors again looked at the draft board and probably said are we gonna get a player at 52 who could be a rotation piece like Lindy Waters they say no what I would say I’d rather have a young developmental Prospect who I can try to groom and develop and try to maximize their talent levels and hope that they can become something whereas I kind of know what Lindy Waters already is sounds like Golden State just didn’t love anybody where they would have been positioned at 52 and they traded that pick away grade the trade let me know down in the comment section right now and let’s hear from dub Nation AB B C D or F I’ll go B minus C+ because it doesn’t really move the needle for me now the Warriors backcourt depth obviously getting bolstered here Steph Curry Brandon psky the top two guards on this team right now Moses Moody Gary pton the second and now you add Lindy Waters the third did the Warriors just make this pick so that they could have a second and a third on their roster and then aesthetically it just kind of looks cool that’s a joke I’m just messing around now let’s go to some Warriors Buzz right now going into day two of the draft and then obviously looking ahead to NBA free agency according to Brian wi horest the Warriors are still Big Fish hunting looking Atlanta Superstar and there’s a lot of chatter about Paul George and we talked about him on yesterday’s show you can check that out if you haven’t already done so it’s up on the channel right now and it’s humming Warriors trade assets if they want to land a big fish via a trade and not free agency you have Jonathan kaminga Andrew Wiggins Moses Moody Gary Payton II you traded away that 52nd overall pick this year but you still have a 2025 first rounder a 2026 first rounder a 2027 first-rounder and a 2028 first round pick now you cannot give up your own first round picks in backto back drafts that is a rule at the NBA level so keep that in mind if you wanted to to give away two of these picks for instance it would have to be 2025 and 2027 unless you got a first-rounder from another team a date to look at coming up on Friday June 28th 2024 Chris Paul’s 30 million guaranteed date enters next year at 39 years old that deadline is to guarantee Paul’s contract for the upcoming season of course if the Warriors traded him away then it’s not their problem but Paul and Golden State have discussed moving that deadline back in order to find a trade partner as well CP3 According to some of the chatter some things that we’ve gathered here at chat sports on Warriors today would like to play in Los Angeles either with the Lakers and new coach JJ reick alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis or the Clippers are looking for a backup Point as well even though they might bring back James Harden might bring back Russell Westbrook as well CP3 is probably better than Russ I would definitely say and he’s not as good right now as James Harden as far as production but could be a really good backup point guard what will happen with CP3 P for push the date if you want to push P right now W for wave sound off with what you think as you venture down to the comments section don’t forget to hit that subscribe button it’s right below this video subscribe right now let’s continue to grow the Empire thanks for watching we’re out [Music]

  1. It's refreshing to be part of a community where respectful disagreement is not only allowed but encouraged.😛

  2. I’m feelin nostalgic man. I still play old games. For some reason some people think they can only play the newest game. 😻👅

  3. What will happen with Chris Paul this weekend? Type ‘P’ for Push Date Back, Type ‘W’ for Waive

  4. It’s like a. Nightmare man warriors ain’t trading cp3 watch 😢 just get rid of him and wiggs

  5. OKC fleecing everyone. They're gonna probably pickup a Center with the remaining draft. They're basically addressing all their needs….

And the warriors are addressing what??😂
I don't think guards is what they need or what will push them into being contenders.

Unless they have something big planned with trades coming up. If they don't do anything significant… Then we all have to accept the reality that we went into soft rebuild mode, as we watch Curry's final years of playing Non-competing( or some would say Non-meaningful) basketball.

  6. Have never seen the guy play so he hasn’t passed my eye test but he passed the warriors eye test he can shoot he’s big his long I like it

  7. KUMINGA Podz Gp2 should be untouchable. Trade options Wiggins, CP3, Moody ( yeah I said it) and draft picks.. you're not going to get an impact player All Star type player unless you give up something of value.. The reason I say GP2 has to stay is because he's a lockdown defender. We need his Elite defense.. Plus he's one of the hearts of the Bay

  8. People crying over the 52nd pick. Cmon cuz lmao. Maybe buy a pick this year. All these bandwagon warrior fans don’t know ball

  9. I'm still watching Mike Dunleavy 😂😂😂. However on the other hand, I think the fact that the warriors have brought in a guard, expect one or two guards to leave. CP3 is really going

  10. A draft doesn’t make sense for the W’s now to help the team now as all newbies needs yrs to develop…look at Wiseman and how he did/ended up

  11. "W" is my vote for Chris Paul. Even if the Warriors trade him they won't get back $30M worth.

  12. I just don't get, Warriors never get a legit big man, they problem is rim protector, they don't have anyone to protect the rim, rhats why they can't win.
