Im not opposed to this at all. WMJ was not gonna amount to anything. A lot better to get something than to just decline his option
Edit: Pick 53?

Nice go get a pick for next years draft

WMJ has literally zero value as an NBA player, so I wonder if it’s a salary move?
Eggy-Time
Gimmie TBJ back lolol. Probably just saves tax dollars.

According to Spotrac, Moore is getting paid about $2.5 million for the 2024-25 season. If it’s just flipping the 37th pick to dump his salary, then that opens up space for another vet min guy.
Edit:
Sounds like they got pick 53 in return. So, they’re moving back a few spots in the 2nd in order to dump guaranteed salary. Makes sense, imo.

This sounds like a salary dump to me just because drafting Dillingham increased the tax bill by near $30m.
I liked Wendell the person, but man he was struggling. I hope he can figure it out.

So the bronny dream is dead?

Wolves are getting pick #53 in return.

Moore seems like a good guy but he was clearly overwhelmed in by the level of the NBA. He barely improved and had no chance getting minutes next year. Maybe a fresh start in Detroit will do something for him but I honestly doubt it.
I really like Tim staying active though.

It’s business, I think a lot of us had a little bit of hype for Wendell but it was a long shot, specially because we couldn’t really develop him with the whole contending bit but I hope he gets the oportunity in Detroit

Will miss him, but he was never going to be a rotational piece.

Tim swinging for Bronny at 53, and moonshot holding for LBJ on that vet min…. Highly doubtful, but stranger things.

Lakers have been mocked to take draft Bronny at 55. But we have #53 now…. Just saying
Aggressive-Depth-526
Moving down to draft Bronny, opens up a spot to sign LeBron for the vet minimum…. I see what they’re cooking…

Still don’t understand why they picked up his team option for this season last year – I guess a potential money move, but seemed clear by then that he wasn’t it. Anyway, vaya con dios bud!

I hope Wendell can figure it out, but he’s been Tim’s most bleh pick from the beginning. I feel like we were all whelmed when his name was called and nothing ever changed after.

Take Bronny and use as leverage against lakers for picks

I was wondering when we would trade Moore.
I wonder how long Minott will stay too. He’s halfway through his deal with no real sight of playing time

Bye and good luck Wendell 👋

This is a win move for the team. I feel bad for Wendell, but wish him nothing but the best for him in Detroit.

This is something we couldn’t do in the future right? Sending out more salary than we receive? Or is it the other way around

I will miss his smile. He was a secret weapon on the bench just for morale.
