I wasn’t convinced we’d find a solid role player year one at 12, I’m certainly not going to pretend we could have found that in the second round at 38. Drafting BPA is the way to go, especially when we have plenty of cap space to add pieces at other spots in free agency.

If Presti really is targeting Hartenstein in free agency, it doesn’t make a ton of sense to take a forward who’s not ready to contribute at a high level in the draft. You should want your big play behind Chet to be NBA level.

I doubt Presti is doing this just to do it. We know that he has a position-less vision, but this is a little much. This feels like he’s stockpiling assets because he’s going to be offloading a bunch of players before the season starts.
There’s got to be a plan, because I just can’t see all the coaches and other team personnel agreeing with rolling out Chet to battle every opposing big next season with JDub as his rebounding sidekick in the paint and JWill as his backup. Maybe Ous has leveled up in the last six weeks and is ready to start at the 4? I don’t know. I’m not panicked, but this does feel a little bizarre.
