Was there ever a moment this season where you thought “this is our year”?

Last year we had JB’s “The energy is about to shift” tweet. This year, it was this post where for whatever reason I just had a good feeling about this team. Like the vibes were just right, and I had a feeling we could win it all!

So, was there ever a time this season where you thought “this is our year”?

The second we traded for Jrue. Moving on from Rob hurt but it showed ownership was serious about building a team to win it all this year. It’s the kind of “all in” mentality that other owners (cough cough Henry) should take notes from

When we traded for Porzingis, I knew our offense and defense were going to reach a new level and we were title favorites, but when we traded for Jrue Holiday, it became obvious that this was essentially a super team that was definitely going to win the championship.

I’m going to be honest, I felt it even during random possessions in the regular season.

  4. iamgarron

Had an inkling all year. But beating the warriors by 50…that was a holy shit we can dominate the season moment

  5. Trading Smart for Pingus. I knew Ainge had that team first mentality of trading anyone to win no matter their sentimental value and I was waiting to see if Brad Stevens had it too, and he does. Sucks that Smart is no longer a Celtic but he’s a big reason why we have Banner 18

Probably when we lost to Miami last year

  7. Routine-Spite-4167

When we beat the warriors by like 50. Lol

  8. GingerMcJesus

Not really a “moment” but when I saw all the parallels with 2008 and where they sat statistically among other all time great teams, I knew we were gonna run through the playoffs

  9. Several_Oil_7099

… Like, four minutes left in game 5 of the finals I decided it was mathematically impossible for the Mavs to come back

When we destroyed the warriors. It felt like a cathartic moment. It felt like finally letting go of the past. We needed that win.

Tbh, I was hesitant to “believe” until the playoffs. We all know what happened the past two years.

But yeah, even with all your fucking doomers after we lost ONE GAME to both Miami and Cleveland, I could tell this team was different. We bounced back and handled every obstacle in our path. Indiana was a fucking WAR but we still managed to sweep them.

After we beat Indy I knew we had this on lock. The feeling going into the finals against Dallas was drastically different than the feeling going against the Warriors.

We were the best team all year and we proved it all year.

a lot of random moments actually but refused to acknowledge it (being superstitious and didn’t wanna jinx it lol)

1 50 point beat down i was like ‘whoa’, then a second, and then the GSW 50 pt beat down i was like ‘yea this team is vanquishing their demons from 2022’

the OT win over Minnesota who was at full power and the #1 team in the west was also another one.

But the biggest moment HAS to be throughout the ECF against the Pacers. Game 1 of the ECF, down 3 at home and Brown hitting that HUGE 3. Especially after game 3 coming back down 20+ to win and then win another nail biter in game 4 to go to the finals. Basically the poise and execution made me really believe, this is it !

when jb hit that buzzer beater agaisnt the pacers in game 1, i felt like i could really trust this team no matter what going forward

  14. I’ve felt it the past few seasons. feels good to have it come true tho ngl.

I don’t remember which game it was exactly, but it was the first time I started realizing that JB and Porzingus were playing really well together.

The two of them had gone a decent stretch playing out of that high pick and roll and then they missed one. The next time down the floor, Brown defaulted to Tatum as if to say “your turn.” Tatum then passed it back immediately, waved brown off and then went to stand in the corner so they would run that pick and roll again. He wanted to see them keep cooking.

That’s when I realized that they really only cared about winning.

Yeah after the first game with no injuries.

  17. juicejug

Honestly first game of the year against the Knicks, first of many “last year’s team blows this” moments.

  18. FlaminDrag0n

My moment was pritchard game 5 half time three pointer. Glad you guys aren’t jaded like me.

For me, when I saw the team for the first time in person during g the preseason. I was admittedly hating on the Kristal’s trade due to his durability, but man seeing that team kick the piss out of the Wizards distinctly gave me the thought we could win it all.

  20. LinwoodKent

Forgive me if this is well known, Kornet and Tatum are bros, right? They seem close.

  21. reznxrx

    The. Whole. Year.

No joke, opening night j made a 7 leg parley and nailed it, and, other than the embarrassing game before the all star break where I might have gone on a 20+ minute rant about Jalen Brown needing to earn his super max and get _aggressive_, which he definitely did, I had no doubt.

  22. When we traded for Jrue and assembled the Avengers starting 5. I did my part and bought tickets immediately.

  23. rblythe999

Maybe now, KP will treat himself to some AirPods.

  24. JusChllin

Honestly this season just felt like it was ours all year

  25. HyruleJedi

When we got rid of Smart. I loved him be he tried to prove himself and failed too many times

  26. TheCollinZRusty

A lot of little moments but it really hit when I saw the ‘You got Boston’ shirts in Game 1. I knew it was settled then.

  27. Sufficient-Rip-7834

Why does Hauser have on a Fabre jersey lol?

  28. Longjumping-Day7821

Multiple times. I thought the whole season this was it. I told my wife in March we would be playing in June. Also when I walked through the confetti outside of American Airlines Center after game 4 I was smiling because I knew it was over.

  29. I had a hunch when we landed KP but once Jrue got here I knew we had this shit in the bag ☘️☘️☘️ felt so good to win after everyone was talking shit all year long

  30. Aggravating_Squash87

The moment Lakers won the in-season trophy.

  31. HFWalling

Everybody bundled up except kp and Lamar Stevens (I think). Interesting…

  32. SSJCelticGoku

The second we got Jrue I knew we would be in the Finals.

  33. ScatOrYourFired

That Pritchard interview right after the all star break, like early March maybe?

They asked him what he was looking forward to the second half of the season and he deadpanned and said “winning, winning a championship”

    Team was so locked in

  34. deadmanscranial

Not really until maybe Pritchard’s halftime buzzer beater in game 5.

  35. Bewilderbeest79

When we beat the dogshit out of the Warriors, it just felt different than before. I still can explain to you why, but I just felt it.

I didn’t want to say it because I think everything is a jinx when it isn’t, but that was the first I just felt it in my bones that we could really do this

  36. Effective_Explorer95

I think it’s their year every year

  37. TootsElBean

It took some of y’all far too long to see this team had what it took 😂 I could feel it probably after the first 20-30 games or so. Still had some of the trauma from being let down the last couple of seasons but could tell pretty early on this team was a lot different and a lot more mature.

  38. Heir233

There was definitely a point where I was like okay this is it. I had a real good feeling when we started to truly dominate in the early season and separate ourselves from the rest of the teams. When we beat Golden State by 50 that was another big hint. When we beat the Heat I was 99% sure we were winning the finals. When JB hit that buzzer beater corner three against the Pacers every bone in my body knew this year was all ours.

  39. JewLawyerFromSunny

When we manhandled the Mavs in game 1 of the finals. Specifically when they cut the lead down to 8 and then we just decimated them in the 4th.
