ORANGE AND BLUE SKIES for Stephen A. 😤 + Bob Myers TAKING THE FIELD for No. 1 | 2024 NBA Draft

Dalton connect out of Tennessee expected to go in the top 10 Alex SAR maybe top two and when Scouts look at him they describe the Frenchman 71 has the highest ceiling well this is one of those drafts as we are inside the barklay center Kevin Nani alongside Stephen A Smith and Bob Myers we are your Trio on ABC starting at 8 o00 Eastern time there’s a lot of ways you could describe drafts sometimes a year ago sure pick that is Victor weany out the gate with a number one pick overall going to the Spurs This draft is described as unpredictable there are a handful of storylines because no one knows who is the consensus number one different draft boards for different teams the Hawks are on the clock what’s the most intriguing storyline do you see for me I’ve got my eyes on the Houston Rockets and Reed Shepard at number three overall this dude is a guy National you know one of the awards for freshman of the Year shot 54% from the field 52% from three-point range father was a two-time national champion at Kentucky by the way a final four most outstanding player in 2000 I’m sorry in 1998 you look at his son freshman year just 12 and a half points but forget all that the 54% from the field the 52% from three-point range if this man was 6566 he’d be the number one overall pick but top three a chabby okay while you look at Houston shoot the ball from Deep last year Lord have mercy they needed some help Bob they needed some help I think it’s on the way with this kid uh being coached by EMA you do with some of the things they do got an opportunity to learn under Fred Van Ved as well I like Reed Shepard at a number three overall pick it’s interesting I was fortunate Stephen A to have been around some guys in Steph Curry and Klay Thompson that every time they shot the ball you thought I was going in that’s right Reed Shepard I feel the same way I mean just look at his shot you don’t have to be an expert in basketball just watch the highlights it’s the same release every time it’s a textbook form on the elbow in and everything it looks pretty and it goes in 52% of the time is an insane College statistic it’s scientistic in in high school even but Kevin your question about storylines um if this is the unusual part about this draft is this usually the number one pick carries uh auress to it yeah we’re going to change our franchise because we’re getting Victor Wana LeBron James ke all these guys right this draft more than ever the field if you made me pick Kevin you want the number one pick or you want the field yeah I’m taking the field all day long because you don’t know the number one pick is the NBA GM somebody the Hawks are going to pick number one and the truth is they don’t know last year the Spurs knew the world knew who was going one and you would not have taken the field so that’s one storyline the second one is player movement yeah veteran player movement more than ever there is a shifting of what’s going on in the league faster paced changing rosters not as much continuity we’ve seen major players batted around in trades yeah we could see in the next four or five days a new favorite coming out just like this New York Knicks guy the bridg I was not finished I was going to give you a compliment okay your Nicks who you’ve pined for for years right right you should feel very good about the way they’re doing look at the smile I look at you and you deserve it let me tell you something right now I thought about wearing orange and blue today I thought about wearing orange and blue I just didn’t have an outfit that I thought was fly enough to rock in orange and blue had I had it I’d have wanted it cuz I’m incredible happy with the New York Knicks but get back to your point for a quick second here’s what another thing that I love about a draft like this we’re going to find out the executives that are worth their salt down the line because there’s no Sure Fire definitive number one number two number three number five number 10 you don’t know and so guys doing their due diligence putting in that evaluation when you see what they do and what they’re able to find that diamond in a rough per se the guys that do that show their worth we’ll see that down the line but that’s one of the things that came to my mind there’s a handful of Mel Bridges guys in this draft three in D perimeter guys and maybe not the number one option number two option the third option to help a team right a Derek white here a Drew holiday here to help you the building blocks here so as a Knicks guy after what you’ve heard the last 24 hours how are we feeling about man I’m excited well listen he’s a Philadelphia 7an right here foret all that here’s the bottom line orange and blue skies baby New York Knicks what a tremendous tremend I’m complimenting James Dolan today I’m complimenting Leon Rose I’m complimenting worldwide oh what a fantastic day it is Mel Bridges can ball 26 points per game when he first arrived in Brooklyn from Phoenix 19 points a game last year one of the elite defenders in the game of basketball now you don’t turn around Nicks and lose OG and an NOA you keep him if we could keep hardstein that would be better but the bottom line is this you look at the Boston Celtics in the Class by Himself the crem delaem the reigning defending NBA CH everybody else in the East is up for GRS the New York Knicks are right in the mix baby and I couldn’t be happier can I just say one thing I was apart from you I think it’s been about eight days you missed me I I missed a little bit I did I missed you a little bit no but Kevin this draft we talked about no consensus but think I’ll give you three names Kobe Bryant what 13th pick in the draft right change the franchise the Lakers for 20 years Giannis out of the Copo picked in the teens yes changed that buck Nico yic second round pick so for people observing this draft watching for people drafting for fans for anybody don’t think because there’s not a number one there’s not a player and to Stephen A’s Point who is the player in this draft that we’re not even talking about that’s going to change a franchise for 10 years because there will be one yep there will be one and you may get him in the team yeah you might and maybe a guy like dein Carter out you’re talking to Kevin the Gandhi like this is good news for him as it pertains to Mel BR no they was drafted by the 76ers and then they moved him away that’s his team right there he’s still sick to that to this very day but he’s trying to be objective it just shows his professionalism shows his professionalism I am I’m doing my best [Music]

  1. The Knicks' odds to win the title barely improved after the Mikal Bridges trade. That's how you know it was an awful trade. In six or seven years, the Knicks' championship window will have long passed, and those draft picks that they sent to Brooklyn could easily be high lottery picks. Bridges is not a superstar by any means.

  2. Our starting 5 plus hart & deuce Robinson divo combined 124 million we take the team with the mvp candidate good role players see y’all in October Knicks for clicks 😂

    Suns kd & booker 150 million 😂😂😂😂

  3. So you're a NY Knicks "superfan," yet you you don't have a nice orange and blue suit? 🤔🤔🤔 SAS is a fraud. This man will never be accepted as a fan and this "Knicks superfan" persona is just for clicks and views. Spike Lee sometimes makes questionable choices for who to root for, but at least he wears his fandom on his sleeve, literally. SAS isn't low on cash, being that he got ESPN by the 🏀s. You can easily get a "nice" suit my guy. But you wont do it, because you're not a REAL fan, you're a fraud, a REAL fan wouldn't worry whether they're on ESPN or any other media outlet and show their REAL fandom, like many already do. SAS GTHOH.

  4. Deep down, SAS knows his Knicks are self imploding. Giving 5 first round picks for a role player than paying $200+ million to another role player who is more injured than healthy😂😂😂

As a Heat fan, I cannot thank the Knicks enough for continuing to pin themselves into a state of never ending mediocrity 😂😂😂

  5. As a huge Celtics fan I like the move by New York. They gave up very good draft capital to get a very good player. It’s the only team in the east. I am slightly worried about. Boston versus New York in the ECF. That will be fun.

  6. Knicks keeps adding Ws this summer. They got a team of super role players built like the 2004 Pistons. They got a bunch of Villanova dogs, not Wildcats.

  7. The man is right, there's a diamond in the rough somewhere in this draft, who nobody is talking about but who is going to change the franchise that picks him.

  8. Stephen A Smith is too influential. This clown said "the important thing, is they signed OG. If Hartenstein goes, oh well". He is too stupid. The Knicks need OG and Hartenstein in order to be legitimate contenders. Mitchell Robinson is not the answer at center….by far.
