[jakeweingarten] Spurs brass is thrilled that Ingram was available for them at No. 48. They were blown away with his workout, and get to bring a Texas kid home. Will be one of the steals of this draft.

This isn’t really what I meant when I said I wanted the Spurs to look into getting Ingram to the team this off-season.

In all seriousness, I’m inclined to trust them here. The org clearly thinks his shooting development this year was real, and if he really had that good of a workout, I see the appeal. Could make a good replacement for Keldon as a wing off the bench eventually if that shot does indeed stay at the level it was this year.

I look forward to seeing a bit of him in Summer League

I bet his best attribute and what they liked most about him was his willingness to sign a 2 way deal lol

  5. my whole draft philosophy with 2nd rounders is “good rebounder” because it’s a big green flag — which Ingram is good at

love this pick and i love that the FO loves the pick too

  6. The Spurs love that two way contract salary attached to these g league players

We are so ghetto, god how cheap and stingy we are has never been more apparent.

  7. I want to see that lineup of Cissoko, Castle, Ingram, Sochan and Wemby. We’ll just bully dudes on defense and throw lobs to Wemby.

Also…if Ingram pans out, he’s sort of a hybrid between Keldon and Bassey. Does that make them expendable soon?

  8. I’ve watched him since his Stanford days and he’s very good.

I was pretty on the fence with Ingram. Though I did have him at 40 I’ve felt that his ceiling is really really limited.

With that said, I’ll say this about him. I think his playmaking hasn’t even scratched the surface of what he’s capable of. Anyone who had a chance to watch North Carolina games this year knows that this guy is a fantastic playmaker not just in making the final pass for the assist, but making the initial pass come of the smart pass, and moving the ball well.

That’s probably the biggest thing San Antonio liked about him. He’s going to fit in really well in that motion offense

Also, this dude is damn strong… Like he’s a real bull. Between him, Johnson, and cisoko The Spurs could put out some real muscle man garbage time lineups to just beat the heck out of teams lol

  10. just checked out his highlights and i don’t think anyone will be disappointed. even with nunez they really feel like highlights and not specifically selected lucky plays to make them look good. a lot of someone really guarding them.

edit: can’t believe i forgot the “not” there lol.

The lottery picks have been questionable, but PATFO still knows how to work the back half of the lottery like they’ve been doing it for two decades straight

Every player can’t be the steal of the draft.

  13. I met Harrison right after he was drafted (I was at the seaport for day 2 draft). He was beyond happy.

His older bro was saying, this was the best situation for Harrison and they couldn’t stop talking about playing along side wemby lol they were geeeeeking over wemby. They also were very grateful by spurs keeping him and not getting traded.

Overall amazing attitude, I hope he has a awesome career

This kid is legit!! I’m a Tar Heel myself and watching him play last season was amazing, he was the heart and soul of that team. Absolutely a quality player that will fit the spurs ethos

  15. We passed on him at 36 for a likely draft and stash prospect. We cannot be too high on him.

  16. He didn’t seem that overly athletic in the hi-lights. Is his defense that great?

  17. sugarfreelime

Hahaha steal. The Austin Spurs are thrilled

NBA draft guys are saying he could play right away. I’m skeptical that a guy who was still available at #48 can play right away. Hope I’m wrong. The bench could use someone like him.
